I’m Rukayya, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) with a deep commitment to helping adults and seniors navigate their mental health with compassion and confidence. With over 17 years of diverse nursing experience—including roles in emergency departments, school nursing, GI care, and private duty—I bring a comprehensive and holistic perspective to patient care. For the past 6 years, I’ve worked as an FNP in primary care, home care, retail, and subacute rehab settings. Along the way, I noticed a significant gap in access to psychiatric care for my patients. That realization inspired me to pursue additional training as a PMHNP. I completed my psychiatric nurse practitioner program in 2024 with clinical rotations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings. My mission is to provide supportive, tailored care that empowers patients to achieve mental wellness.
