Dr. Abdul Wali Nawabi, MD

I am about 25 lbs overweight. I am also a liver transplant patient with Gastroparesis, severe depression/anxiety and PTSD. I switched to Dr Nawabi because my first doctor overlooked shingles because I’m young. Dr Nawabi and staff are friendly, however it is clear that his concerns are with weight loss and can’t see past it. I went in because I had been feeling like I couldn’t get out of bed, he lectured me on my diet and when I said I don’t care about my weight until I get my mental state in order, he blew me off. He got an extra star because he prescribed me vyvanse, to give me energy and curb my appetite (even though I don’t really have one) but it ended up clearing my mind and stopping my anxiety/overthinking. I also heard him in another room prescribing vyvanse to someone else the next time I came in. Not sure if he’s getting a kickback from the company or it’s just a coincidence, but I am now seeing a psychiatrist because it looks like I actually have ADHD. Also, side note, with… most insurance carriers, a PCP cannot prescribe it to you if you want it covered by insurance. I went to the emergency room yesterday and I had a few lab results that were not normal. I had just had a physical a month before and he didn’t mention anything about these rising kidney numbers or that I am severely vitamin D deficient. I just requested all my records and will be finding a new doctor. I’m sure once my mental health is taken care of, I will get back to my normal weight on my own without the drugs he kept trying to prescribe.

Nice to find a doctor that doesn't try to rush you through things. He'll take the time to answer any questions, and has a practical approach to care.

I have been with Dr, Nawabi for years, the Dr. and his staff have always taken care of me in professional and friendly manner. I would not switch Doctors unless he retires.

I have been a patient of Dr. Nawabi's for 7 years or more. He is always cheerful, very detailed and addresses my concerns completely. Great sense of humor - putting a patient at ease. He has never rushed me out of the office until I've covered all of the reasons for my visit. I am totally confident when I leave that my issues have been resolved. I would highly recommend him and his staff.

I like Dr. Nawabi, he's concerned about his patients and has always been right on about the diagnosis. He spends time with me and never rushes out to the next patient until all my questions are answered and I feel comfortable about leaving.

Dr Nawabi is an astonishing and phenomenal doctor. Of all the doctors I have been to he's the one doctor that I trust most and he really cares about his patients, and makes every effort possiable to take care of his patients . And to top it all off he has a great personality and is very kind.
