Abigail Avery, PA-C

Originally from rural southern Virginia, Abigail Avery's interest in medicine, dedication to service, and love for small towns have been at her core for as long as she can remember. Prior to starting PA school, Avery was an AmeriCorps member through a program called MedServe, where she worked as a medical assistant in a federally qualified health center with a community outreach role involving the local refugee community. She is passionate about primary care and treating the whole patient - body, mind, and soul. Her volunteer work has centered around various community care clinics, as well as Special Olympics. Avery is also involved with advocacy through the PA profession that focuses on improving patient care and increasing access, especially in medically underserved communities. She is a National Health Service Corps scholar and is honored to begin her career with Maria Parham so that she may serve her patients and community here in Henderson and beyond. Abigail's hobbies include …teaching barre, decorating for every holiday, sitting down with a good book, and traveling with her husband.
