Dr. Abigail M Christiansen, MD

Earlier today I had my third (possibly my fourth) appointment with Dr. Christiansen. In each case these have been for colonoscopies and/or endoscopies to monitor ongoing concerns, rather than to diagnose a new problem. She presents helpful descriptions in "lay" terms of what the issue is and what will do (or has just done). And she does all this with a personality style that's hard to describe--idiosyncratic and at times even funny. She's probably unlike most any other doctor you've encountered! After discussing her findings with me today, at the point where she'd usually say she'd have me back in 3-5 years, she told me she's planning to retire. Too bad; I will miss her.

Dr Abigail Christiansen literally saved my life. I was in liver failure and had turned yellow. All the other doctors could not find the problem and I was getting worse. Dr Christiansen took a liver biopsy and sent it to Mayo. She determined I had auto-immune hepatitis. Her bedside manner is wonderful and she always offers me options while discussing the plus and minus of each. I trust her advise and value her expertise.

Its always hard to get an appointment, she is scheduled 6 to8 weeks ahead, annoying. But, her office does respond if you have an urgent matter, med problem etc. She is worth the wait!

Her diagnosis was a joke. I had looked her up previous to my visit and knew instantly what she would say. I was 100% correct. I left her office with several prescriptions and orders for physical therapy. She only seems interested in treating the symptoms and not finding the cause. I never filled her prescriptions. The cause was found and I now live a healthy and happy life.

Dr Christiansen shoots straight from the hip. She is honest with her opinions, takes the time to listen to your concerns, will look up information with you to address your symptoms and will follow up with the appropriate tests necessary to make an accurate diagnosis.

Dr. Christiansen has a great bedside manner. She put my mind at ease for my first colonoscopy. I would highly recommend her for this procedure!
