Dr. ABBY LUKENS, DO is a BOARD CERTIFIED FAMILY MEDICINE PHYSICIAN

My name is Dr. Abby Lukens, and I am a physician practicing at the Garden Street office of Primary Medical Group. I was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, where I developed a passion for movement and the human body at a young age. This passion led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. After college, I worked at Children’s Hospital Boston, conducting research on childhood and adolescent obesity.

Seeking a break from New England winters, I moved to California, where I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Master of Public Health from Touro University California in Vallejo. I then relocated to Ventura to complete my Family Medicine residency at Community Memorial Health System.

I believe strongly in fostering open and honest conversations with my patients and placing great importance on building a strong patient-physician relationship. I …was drawn to Family Medicine because of its unique ability to offer long-term care, and I truly value the opportunity to care for patients and their families over the course of their lives, spanning generations.
