Dr. Abraham Port, MD

The woman that posted comments about Dr Port on September 18, 2019 said everything perfectly. I had an annual mammo and sonogram on December 1st and everything looked fine in the mammogram but thank goodness I had Rachel as my sonogram technician. She found an area of concern and after Dr Port took a look at the pictures, scheduled me within days for a needle biopsy. He was cognizant of the fact that I live in Florida and wanted to make sure he would take care of me. Just had needle biopsy this morning, and I was told what to expect, after care and the cell phone number for Dr Port in case I had any problems. Now the hard part,, waiting for results. Dr Port and Rachel made sure I was as comfortable as possible and Dr Port told me everything he was doing while doing the biopsy. When you find a kind, caring, intelligent, trusted and empathetic Dr, like Dr Port and his amazing team, you pay the plane fare no matter what. My daughter ad daughter in law also go to this office which was… a recommendation from my GYN, who also goes to Dr Port. After using NTAD for almost 20 years, when they became NYU Langone the personalization went away. After having had a lumpectomy 20 years ago, I stopped using them bc they do not give you results at the time of your appt. I can't do that. When you have a mammo and then a sonogram, Dr Port visits you and looks over the results and does his own sonogram before you leave. That's how you treat patients. Dr port came out to personally give me my Mamography and sonogram results . I am actually a patient of Dr Autz and he was out sick . Everyone in the office is very kind and efficient .

There are not enough positive words to describe Dr. Port. He personally comes in and re does part of the sonogram to make sure first hand that he has seen everything before giving you results of your exam. He takes times to answer all questions and truly cares. I have had 5 biopsies over the years and each time he took time in his office as well as calling me in the evening to answer all of my concerns and calm my anxieties. He gives you his cell phone number after biopsies in case you have concerns during off hours. When my last 2 biopsies came back positive for cancer, he spent time with me over multiple conversations as I tried to figure out what to do. When my surgeons gave me a surgery date that I thought was too far in the future, I called and asked his opinion. He agreed with me and called my surgeon to get the surgery date moved up. After my surgery, Dr. Port is the only doctor who called to see how I was doing. I never heard a peep from my primary care doctor who… cleared me for my surgery. Yes, you will wait in his office, best to expect to be there around 2 hours but it is well worth the wait and instead of getting upset while you wait, please understand that he is running behind because he probably had to tell more than one woman that she needs a biopsy or fit someone in last minute for a biopsy. If you go to a larger facility who runs on time, ask yourself, do you know who is reading your mammogram or sonogram? Are they vested in your health? Dr. Port is the one who said I should have 6 month sonograms in between my mammograms because of my history of biopsies. Thank g-d he did, because 2 nodules were found that weren't there at my mammogram 6 months earlier. I have 2 types of cancer and one in invasive and aggressive. Thankfully because it was caught early it's only stage 1, however if it had been a full year I was told it would have been stage 3 or 4. Dr. Port basically saved my life by being vigilant and having me on 6 month sonograms and I will always be grateful for that. After I retire and move out of New York, I intend to come back to New York just for my check-ups with him until he retires. They broke the mold with Dr. Port, he is one of a kind and I am very fortunate that he is my doctor.

I have known Dr. Port professionally and as a patient. He’s extremely thorough, patient, kind, has an excellent bedside manner in such an anxiety filled occupation. He knows how to put you at ease. Nearly all the patients who wrote 1 star reviews do not detail why they’ve given him 1 star. The one that did, is not the Dr. Port I know.

Dr. Port has a wonderful bedside manner and is an intelligent and great doctor. I highly recommend him.

A great radiologist and very compassionate

dr port was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. he reassured me which was most important to me. Results were given on the spot which was very important to me.

Nothing but good things to say about Dr. Port. He is very good at making me feel at ease during my appointments.

Dr. Port is a very dedicated doctor who has great bedside manner. He really cares about his patients. He is by far my favorite doctor.

Dr port is a wonderful caring Phisician who is an expert in his field .I have found him very caring and attentive while with me .A true Professional Believe me I have many Drs involved in my care and he undoubtably is # 1 .
