Dr. Abraham Winkelstein, MD

Dr. Winklestein is lazy and will palputate your abdomin in a chair instead of exam table. Later you will find out he missed a 10cm mass in your belly due to his laziness

Hyperbole is frequent both ways in comments. Dr. Winkelstein is a life saver. He is thorough, meticulous in his attention to detail, and extremely knowledgeable. I would not see anyone else.

We have been patients of Dr. Winkelstein for several years and while he has been a great doctor, his office staff is one of the worst we have dealt with. Their communication with patients is sub-par. If using this office just prepare yourself to only ever speak to an medical assistant on the phone (who’s knowledge on any procedures is limited) and asking for your OWN medical records is like pulling teeth. We moved and our new office has been requesting our medical records for over 3 months.

I called last year and left a message several times to set an appointment for a colonoscopy and i never received a call back. i am calling again today to try to set an appointment and i get a recording. left message and i still can't get someone to return my call.

Excellent Doctor and Bedside Manner!

The office staff communicates poorly. Little empathy and uninterested in patient problems on an individual basis. No compromise or urgency. They always have an answer as to why things are done as they are which is ok but sometimes that won't work. But they insist it can even go as far as flat out lying.

I saw him for several issues. All necessary testing was completed. After a colonoscopy I was told about a few issues and then referred to a surgeon. The surgeon was reading my test results aloud and mentioned things like "cirrhotic liver", "hiatal hernia", "your stomach has gone through your diaphragm and is in your chest". Dr. Winkelstein had told me I had diverticulitis, a few polyps. He left everything else out. I was aghast. I made an appointment to talk about what all the new information meant and he did not help clear up any of my questions.

I was referred to Dr. Winkelstein by my primary care doctor for abdominal pain. Dr. Winkelstein's office staff is very friendly & professional. I was a little intimidated at first due to all the PC use by the doctor and the nurse but feel that it is just their way of ensuring that all details are kept current & easily accessible. Dr. Winkelstein is a very caring & knowledgeable doctor. He looked at all of my medical records and questioned me on anything that did not seem right. I feel he is a totally reliable doctor with my health and would thoroughly recommend him to others needing his expertise. Only thing better would be to have him closer to where I live! :)

Dr. Winkelstein is an excellent physician. He is friendly and knowledgeable and I feel like he listens and takes my concerns seriously. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a gastroenterologist.
