FIND ANOTHER PRACTICE!!! Firstly, let me say Dr. Tung has been my physician since 2020 and she is phenomenal. She helped deliver both my baby boys and I am super grateful to her. However, I had the unfortunate luck to have had her partner Ada Farmer perform my second son’s circumcision August 2023 at Jupiter Medical Center. While the procedure went ok, it their billing process that followed that has been an absolute nightmare. My husband and I both have Aetna Health insurance, and my plan has covered all of my medical expenses. I received an electronic notice a couple of weeks after leaving the hospital that I owed $500 for the circumcision service so I called Aetna to find out what the situation was. They informed me that a few of the bills within the first month of the baby’s life needed to be billed to my husband’s Aetna plan instead of mine because his birthday was earlier in the year than mine. He proceeded to make the notation for those claims that had been denied but didn’t see… the one for the circumcision. He said the practice probably needed to re-bill it and at that point he would connect the policies and make sure the service was paid since circumcision is covered at 100%. I called OBGYN’s office and informed them of this so they can notate the account. I didn’t hear back from the office but on Monday Jan 15(4 months later) I received a call from ACSI collection agency informing me the practice had put me in collections for non-payment. I was shocked since I thought this had been taken care of after I had taken the time during maternity leave with a newborn to call and address this months ago. So today, I called the OBGYN office and spoke to a woman on the line to try to clarify the situation. I told her how likely they had not billed the circumcision correctly since it probably needed to be billed to my husband’s insurance and that I would be happy to provide the information so they could get paid. She rudely replied that it is too late to do anything because it is already in collections and that it is my responsibility to pay the bill due to the contract I signed. The contract I signed said that I was responsible for anything not covered by insurance. However, if the practice didn’t bill it properly or had issues billing it is 100% up to them to call the patient for information they need. She told me that they didn’t even have the baby’s name which again for the 1st week of life is SUPER standard and billable regardless since the Pediatrician and Jupiter Medical Center all billed with “BabyBoy” and his date of birth. I told her if she didn’t want to help me then the bill could sit in collections then. I called the collection company and let them know I was disputing the bill. I then called Aetna to let them know the situation.. they searched and searched all claims and could not locate the $500 bill from Ada Farmer. The Aetna rep then advised it was best to do a 3 way call with the practice to figure out the situation. She called the practice and asked when the service was given and when it wa billed. The Obgyn billing agent then became very rude and said that they never billed it because they didn’t have the correct billing information(they always did) and didn’t have the baby’s actual name. When I tried to explain that the baby’s name was irrelevant for billing the first month of life she abruptly interrupted me and said “to our practice it is relevant like I already told you on the phone earlier and it was up to you to call us to give the name!” I told her the hospital updated the name and since the service happened at the hospital they could have called Jupiter Medical or me for the information and again she interrupted “it is YOUR responsibility to call us! WE are not going to call the hospital.” When I told her I DID call shortly after the baby was born she said “well we notate all our calls and I don’t see any record of you calling in my system!” She became so obscenely disrespectful to me(her practice’s pa

I always wait to schedule with Dr. Farmer. Great experience, caring, really listens to your concerns and provides detailed answers. Had a great delivery and labor.

Horrible experience. Unable to feel empathy for me while I was in labor. Appears to be very anxious about law suits and feels her opinion is the only way to handle YOUR medical care. No cultural competence either.... Sad to see her be part of such a well known practice... There's always a wait for dr Ferrara but she is always available. I doubt she will last there.

Dr farmer is anxious, has poor bedside manners, is culturally incompetent and pushes into unnecessary csection for the sake of her sleep time and finances. I would run from this practice just for the chance of getting her as your dr.
