I have glaucoma and have been monitored by Dr. Dao for a few years now. He and his staff are kind and really care. The office is stunning.

Very impressed with Dr. Dao. After going to Kaiser for many years, I wanted to get a second opinion about my glaucoma from Dr. Dao. I was very impressed with the technology of the office and Dr. Dao's bedside manner. He taught me more in 15 minutes about my eyes than I knew in 8 years of going to Kaiser. This is a very beautiful and welcoming office with excellent staff and facilities. I will be switching insurances so I can continue to see Dr. Dao

I had LASIK with Dr. Dao in May and now that I've healed, I wanted to write a review with how happy I am with his care and with the surgery. I used to be a -8.0 in both eyes and was dependent on contact lenses or glasses since I was 6 years old. As a high correction, Dr. Dao and his staff spent a lot of time with the consultation appointment to make sure I understood all of the risks of surgery and spent extra time to nail down my correction. Dr. Dao is very energetic and knows his stuff. We discussed PRK vs LASIK and pros and cons, and I decided to go with LASIK because of the faster healing time. I did my surgery at a hospital laser center, which was a very clean and professional place. I like that Dr. Dao operates at the hospital--I went to a few other places before for a consultation and they had a laser on-site and they made me feel pressured to choose a date. I also feel that surgeons that have a laser in their office they are paying for would be more likely to feel… pressured to sign more people up for surgery. I did not feel like I was pressured at all and that Dr. Dao was looking out for my best interest. I was 20/25 the day after surgery and 20/20 1 week out. Now, at one month postop, I can see the 20/15 line. I don't think I was ever able to see that with glasses or contacts. This was by far the best decision I have ever made for myself. It is worth the money. I am so glad I chose Mosaic Eye Specialists and Dr. Dao to do my LASIK.

I've gotten the opportunity to see 4 ophthalmologists in my 74 years on earth (2 in the last 10 years), and Dr. Dao is by far the best one. My past 2 ophthalmologists dismissed my dry eye symptoms and told me to put artificial tears in. Dr. Dao listened to my concerns and complaints (I have not been able to go into a Costco for years because the aggressive HVAC system) and has basically changed my life. My symptoms are anywhere between 80-90% reduced with the plugs, and I can shop at Costco and department stores again without rushing to get out before my eyes got painful. He is also monitoring me for cataracts, and I appreciate that he has not rushed me into surgery. He thinks he is going to take a few more years until they are bad enough to remove. When it comes time for the surgery, I know I am in good hands. I've had two friends have cataract surgery with him and both have been thrilled with the results.

I went to Dr. Dao looking for LASIK surgery to correct my horrible vision. I've been wearing contacts and glasses for over 15 years and it was just time to get rid of them. Dr. Dao carefully screened me and told me that I was not a candidate for LASIK given my thin corneas. I had been to a few other doctors who wanted to sign me up to do LASIK surgery that week but for various reasons I had to postpone the surgery. I am so glad I did not! Had I gone forward with the LASIK surgery, Dr. Dao said I would be at risk of corneal ectasia or bowing, which I did not know was a risk. He recommended PRK surgery, which is the same thing but takes a bit longer to heal. The surgery went perfectly and I am now better than 20 20 in both eyes at a month post op and it is getting better every day. It is amazing to see without my glasses or contacts and I am SOOOO thankful and grateful that Dr. Dao had the expertise and knowledge to recommend the safer procedure for me. He is a cornea… specialist and this is, I know now, a corneal surgery!

Hi, I was visiting San Diego on vacation and developed an eyelid infection. Dr. Dao's office got me in the next day and I was impressed with the efficiency and the care that the entire team provided during my visit. Dr. Dao examined my entire eye and took photos of my retina to make sure there were no problems elsewhere and performed a quick procedure in the office to drain the eyelid infection. Everything went perfectly and I am on my way to full recovery. So happy I found this place. Thank you to Dr. Dao and his team, I am grateful that my vacation was not ruined! -Jo B.

I'm 23, and just had LASIK with Dr. Dao a couple of weeks ago and am THRILLED with the results. I used to be near-sighted, which means I had to put on my glasses first thing in the morning and was unable to drive or see at distance without glasses or contacts. The pre-operative exam was easy and Dr. Dao and his assistant explained the how the entire procedure day would go and gave me drops to use after the surgery. I will admit, the surgery is weird feeling but there was nothing painful about it. He put on an eye shield and I started drops that same day. Already by that evening I could tell that my vision was sharp! I did have a bit of irritation but I put in drops just like Dr. Dao said and that went away. Day 1 after my LASIK I was 20/20 without glasses for the first time ever. At my week 1 postop I was reading 20/15 (the smallest line his eyechart had). I am so happy I did the surgery. Everybody in the office was professional, kind, and courteous. Dr. Dao is amazing and… doesn't sugar coat anything and tells-you-like-it-is and is super down to earth. Best decision I've ever made. I have suffered with dry eye syndrome for years and have been to multiple ophthalmologists, including corneal specialists at UCLA and UCSD, and have been underwhelmed with the care provided by some of these so-called "big names". I went to Dr. Dao to seek care for my condition, and, though I am not cured (it is a chronic condition), Dr. Dao has helped me manage my symptoms to where I have more good days than bad, and at my last visit, I found out that my vision has improved from a consisistent 20/40 to 20/50 to 20/25 in both eyes (not perfect, but close!). I see him 3-4 times a year for a checkup/tune up and have found his front office staff and his technicians to be courteous and kind and very competent. Dr. Dao is easy to talk to, very intelligent, and makes me feel at ease, even when I have a flare. He is a busy doctor, and average in and out times at his office are around 45-60 minutes, so be prepared for that as they are very thorough here. I will never go… anywhere else. Thanks, Dr. Dao!

I had cataract surgery with Dr. Dao and chose to get the Symfony lenses implanted. From start to finish (preop, surgery, postop) Dr. Dao and his staff were excellent and kept me informed every step of the way. I suffered from dry eye prior to the surgery, and Dr. Dao diagnosed and treated me for this so I would heal well from surgery. I no longer need glasses except to read very fine print or if I am reading in low light conditions, and the result has been better than I could have hoped for. He is worth every penny.
