Dr. Adam Karp, MD

I am a physician. I just brought my 105 y/o mother to Adam Karp. Wait time was. He lacked bed side manner. Beyond listening to heart +lungs, there was no physical or neurological exam, no cognitive assessment. He did not look for pedal edema, did not look for skin sores, bruises, or ulcers, or visible vascular problems, or venous insufficiency. He did NOT assess baseline strength, coordination, or gait. He wrongly diagnosed Alzheimer's solely from an MRI in a patient for whom Alzheimer's has been formally ruled out. He ignored facts that imaging studies alone cant make that diagnosis as they often don't correlate with behavior, yet said he wouldn't look for markers. All that shows severe deficits which suggest he may not be able to properly treat patients. ADAM KARP DEMONSTRATED CONDUCT THAT OTHER DOCTORS MIGHT CONSIDER TO BE CONSISTENT WITH MALPRACTICE.

A very caring and very, very responsive physician who gets back to every phone call or message whether in or outside hours - a rarity in these days.

Karp suggested bipap machines for corona virus were not of any help but the head of the virus response team and Cuomo suggested it was the 2and best alternative.

My husband came in with problems breathing and told to come back the next day. Later than day he had a pulmonary embolism. He survived but it changed the rest of his life...and not for the better. I went in day after day (for weeks) with fever and assorted discomforts. After being diagnosed with everything but the real problem, an acupuncturist told me I had Lyme. I believe there are residual symptoms because I was not treated quickly enough. Dr. Karp I hope you read this.

I actually enjoyed my visit to Dr. Karp. He is a warm, genuine PERSON, as well as a very thorough doctor. He took the time to, not only study the long history sheet I filled out, but to ask me questions about my health and family, and to answer any questions I had.

Medically incompetent, non-hygienic internist. I was assigned this doc for medical clearance. I should have just gone to my own primary care physician for visit. Visit with doc lasted maybe 5 mins, mainly with him typing up report on another patient. Literally made me sit there while he was working on another pt's charts.Very unprofessional, rude, unpleasant, arrogant, unhygienic, his lab coat and hands grimy. He even admitted he knew absolutely nothing about my health issues even though he had my chart right in front of him. He stated he knew nothing about what I should expect the day of my surgery. How could a doctor know nothing about hospital policies about preoperative procedures when he does medical clearance on a regular basis. Incompetent. Avoid this doc like the plague.

Waited an hour and 15 minutes, just to spend a couple of minutes with the Dr. In my short visit he worked on emails, asked a few questions, and used me to catch back up on the bogged down office visit schedule. Doesn't take insurance either (even though my primary NYU Dr., surgical NYU Dr., and the NYU hospital network does), but doesn't bother mentioning it and still goes through the motion of taking a "copay" so you get a bill for the full amount later. Having to pay cash on rack rate / retail price hospital bills - - I don't recommend it.
