Dr Waxman took the time to explain everything to me in a clear, concise way, complete with a hand written chart that showed the possible illnesses that we needed to test for, and which ones were more likely than others. I left this appointment confident that I was in the right place to face whatever would be discovered. I also found confidence in the fact that Dr Waxman works with doctors from other disciplines, including the neurologist who ordered the initial tests that landed me in oncology. The person who was so dissatisfied (see the Feb 1 review) seems to have written 3 reviews in order to skew the ratings for Dr Waxman. That's underhanded for sure. I haven't always liked or agreed with every doctor I have seen, and some have done me serious disservice in the past, but really, write one review and state whatever it is you need to say and be done with it and then choose a different doctor. I had a wonderful visit. I'm looking forward to getting my test results back so that Dr… Waxman and I can create a plan to deal with whatever is discovered.

Knows nothing about smoldering myeloma guidelines. Refused to perform testing.requested by the head of myeloma.services at mskcc. Disrespectful..arrogant. Disparaging of my internationally renowned specialist. Lied.to me telling me my insurance would never cover testing. It did. Bottom line, he cares nothing about his patients.
