Dr. Adam C. Young, MD

Dr Young was working with the Rush Pain center with Dr. in 2012-2013 at Rush hospital when I saw him. He took the time to listen to me when I thought I knew what my condition was. He worked with me to convince the Doctor to give me a simple but obscure injection to prove that Pudendal Neuralgia was what I had. I brought this theory to 5 doctors before asking him and he was the only one who listened and considered my idea. He then worked with Doctor Buvenandren to help get a rare Bilateral Pudendal Nerve decompression surgery approved through insurance. Again, one of the best doctors I have worked with over the years

Dr Young is a fantastic doctor. His bedside manner is wonderful, and he doesn't look down on you when you ask a million questions or even if your frustrated. His fellows are also wonderful. I don't think I have ever met a nicer doctor. Now, for the staff at Rush in general, completely 100% stinks! I had a procedure done at Rush on Harrison, my time to be there by was 7:15am. When I arrived, I signed in and sat with a room full of people. 30 minutes went by so I got up to ask the girl sitting behind the desk why was I waiting, she told me to sit back down & she will get to me. She was too busy having a personal conversation then checking patients in that whole time. Then another 15 minutes went by & she finally started calling people & of course I was last to be called. Calling Rush on Harrison for an appointment is a complete joke. You can either sit on hold for over 30 minutes only to be hung up on or you leave a message & never get a returned call!! Literally out of all the… people I have come in contact besides Dr. Young & his fellows there have been maybe 2 people who are fantastic. Susan is a nurse, Sam a MA at Rush on Harrison. The rest of the support staff needs a training class on customer service! Oak Park isn't any better, Noel (the receptionist) is nasty on the phone, has thrown fits over having to check an appointment date or rescheduling. She is incredibly rude in person as well. Now I found out that Dr. Young has left the practice and I have been shoved off to another Doctor who is rude, has absolutely no bedside manner, cut me off from speaking & actually had the audacity to tell me to "calm down" because I became vocal over a treatment he wanted to do to me. I sat and explained to his student for over 30 minutes that I wanted off my medication & what does this new doctor do? Oh, he just piled on more medication. I can't wait to be done with this doctor. I keep asking people from the offices at Rush that I have to deal with what happened to Dr. Young & no one knows anything. He was there one morning & gone by that same evening. So, if you know where Dr. Young is or if you are reading this Dr. Young, please let your patients know where you went because I am sure they will follow you including myself!!

Dr Young is very knowledgeable and kind as well as his fellows, but his staff is terrible!! In order to get in to see him you need to send your records but you can’t even get someone on the phone to see how to send it or to who’s attention. Left several messages with no return calls. Would sit on hold with 2 separate phones and I would be on hold for over an hour!! Once I did get someone they were incredibly rude. Wouldn’t answer my questions. I had to have my referring doctor call them multiple times in order for me to get in. They scheduled me for an 8am appointment and no one was there!! The front desk walked in at 8:30. Why schedule someone when there is no one there and I wasn’t seen until 9am! Then my follow up I waited 2.5 hours only to see Dr Young for 5 minutes!! When I asked to speak with the nurse regarding my care and wanting to talk to a fellow or my doctor the comment was “We don’t do that!!” I called back again to speak to a nurse & there was such a language barrier… that I had to repeat myself 5 times. Then I requested my records & the person acted like I was bothering her. Overall I would say if you have a choice to go somewhere else because the staff is everything at an office & if you go there they will make you feel like garbage and could care less about your time.
