Dr. Adarsh Luthra, MD

This Dr and the office staff are extremely incompetent! I went for my first appointment 5 months ago to get an MRI and begin the diagnostic process for treatment of a back problem. It took 2 months, and 3 phone calls from me to even get the MRI appointment scheduled, since Dr Luthra doesn't allow patients to schedule their own appointments, I had to jump through hoops to get one. I had the follow up appointment 2 weeks after the MRI at which time I was told I was being referred to a spine specialist for treatment. I was told at that time, the office would make the appointment for me and call me with the time and date. One month later I still did not have an appointment with the spine Dr. I have a slipped disk in my back that is pressing on the nerve, so I am in extreme pain all the time. This is a quality of life issue too. I called the spine specialist to make my own appointment and see if I could do it that way (there is only one of these Dr.'s in town so there is only one person to… be referred to). I called Dr Luthra's office to let them know, and ask them to fax the referral info to the spine Dr. so I could get an appointment. I was told at that time they would, gave them the fax number and waited for the spine Dr to call with my appointment. I was told this would take about a week or two. Three weeks later, I still have not been called. Dr Luthra's office told the spine Dr that I was not given a referral and would not be getting one. I call Dr Luthra's office to find out what is going on. I am told at that time, I will be getting the referral, they just have to wait for the Dr to get back in town to sign off on it and that is the only thing holding it up, but when she gets back in 3 weeks I will have it! I have already been waiting 2 months for this referral and now have to wait another 3 weeks! Most Dr's have someone that can sign off on these things, and a competent Dr would take care of it before leaving town for 6 weeks at a time! I have changed my Dr, and have an appointment for before Dr Luthra returns to town. I called the office for a copy of my medical records and was told I can't be given them until she returns!! I think that violates HIPPA or ERISA laws, and will be filing a formal complaint if it does....I have never encountered a level of incompetence so high from a Dr in my life! This person should not be allowed to practice medicine anymore
