Dr. Adrian Sandra Dobs, MD

incredibly rude, bad bedside manner. im not sure she actually listened to a single thing i said or question i asked? she made me feel invalidated in a way i never have and dismissed all of my concerns and basically asked why i was even there. highly do not recommend, especially if you're younger. she also didnt smile at me a single time or show any human emotion or tbh even eye contact

The low ratings are earned. Dr. Dobs is arrogant and dismissive of patient concerns. The office is run very poorly; it is nearly impossible to get a timely response for follow-ups or critical medication refills. It is dangerous for a doctor to be this unreachable when patients are running out of medicine. Furthermore, be prepared for the billing: because she is in a JH hospital facility, you get hit with double charges (doctor fee + facility fee). She is completely indifferent to the financial or medical stress this causes. Her staff/secretary are unhelpful and do not follow through on requests. Save your time and money—go to a doctor who respects their patients and manages prescriptions responsibly.

You will get strange vibes from this doctor like she is leering at you. She required an unnecessary genital examination of me, and when I asked other trans people in my support group if this had happened to them too, multiple others said this was their experience, that she required genital exams to see if hormones “were working”. I am in contact with trans people all over the country and NO ONE else is doing this. I know at least ten people who have made complaints to the hospital. Nothing comes of it from the powers that be. Please be advised and stay away from her.

I had high hopes for Dr. Dobs because she's listed on the Johns Hopkins Center for Transgender Health webpage. I assumed she would be knowledgeable and respectful about trans-related issues. This was NOT the case. She misgendered me repeatedly, didn't answer my questions, and almost seemed to be trying to persuade me not to pursue hormone treatment. I ended the appointment very upset, and later that day a nurse from her office called me for some reason. I politely said that things didn't work out, and then the nurse reported back to Dr. Dobs. Dr. Dobs then sent me a message via MyChart re-iterating everything she had said during the appointment. I am very disappointed and will be pursuing care in my home city of Pittsburgh PA, because Dr. Dobs appears to be the only person who prescribes hormone therapy for trans people at the Hopkins facilities in Baltimore. And did I mention that her staff told me to fax several important documents to her, then she told me that she doesn't check the… fax machine anymore so she didn't get my documents?? Infuriating.

RUN away from this doctor. I do not know how she even has a job. She asks to examine the genitals of patients when it has no medical purpose whatsoever. She has done this to multiple people I know. She asks far too many sexual questions for an endocrinologist. She is extremely creepy. It's amazing she has a job at all; why hasn't she been fired??

Dr. Dobs has been very cordial with me for the past 10 years or so she has always been very respectful and very professional although waiting to see her can take up to one hour and 45 minutes but her time with you in the exam room is what counts and she has been very helpful with my problems and I couldn't ask for more of a doctor in this field I do not understand why she would only get 2.2 stars I can only say that in my experience it was not to. Two stars it was 5.5 or more stars

Dobs' word is completely worthless, and she is impossible to get in communication with. I don't see how anyone could have anything but a negative health outcome from seeing her.

Dr. Dobs' credentials are outstanding, but the level of service she provides is not. My spouse and I had a scheduled appt. with Dr. Dobs, but we waited over two hours to be seen by her. At the end of our appt. she said that she would contact us once she had results from routine results. We have been billed for the tests, but it has been two weeks with no word from Dr. Dobs. In fact, neither she nor her secretary have been courteous enough to respond to messages we left by email and voicemail. Credentials mean nothing if the level of patient care and service are lacking, and they certainly are in the case of Dr. Dobs.

Did not engage the patient in discussion ask many questions, or really listen to patient; relied on the intern report which was presentated to her on her entrance into the small waiting room; spent little time in the room. She did not recommend any other tests or seem to ruminate on the case, despite its complexity.

After 8 months and 2 rounds of lab tests, still can't get anything in writing of her opinion, diagnoses.
