He then completed a five-year general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he received awards of recognition for his research endeavors and his excellence in teaching medical students.
Dr. Cornejo continued his training at the prestigious Duke University Medical Center, where he completed three additional years of training alongside world renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeons. After completing his plastic surgery training, Dr. Cornejo returned to San Antonio where he has been serving the South Texas community since 2017. During this time, he has performed over 2,500 plastic surgery procedures of the face, breast and body as a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery.
