Very personable and great bedside manner!

This man does not listen, imposes his agenda even if you have concerns, and is not honest.

Of course medication maintenance is not a therapy session. But Dr. Bashir also helps during a crisis and has compassion.

He is a bit difficult to understand. He does not like abstract thought, is very Type A and becomes agitated when you do not answer his questions in a "textbook" manner. He has a rigid way of thinking about solutions to problems. He shoots down any ideas/recommendations about medication you may ask him about. He is very rude sometimes and it is very hard to interject yourself and what you have to say into a session. He makes his patients feel like an inconvenience. He is always late to appointments (sometimes upwards of 60-90 minutes...!). I will be looking for a different doctor. His prescription recommendations are only sub-par, could definitely be better if he would actually listen to his patients.

I've seen three different psychiatrists through Advocate Medical since I was 14, I am now in my mid 30's. I felt his bedside manner was lacking signifcantly and when I asked him to repeat himself as he is hard to understand, he continued to come off as agitated. There was also an issue with getting back to one another via phone calls as I returned his call, it was after hours due to my work hours. When I came to see him after that issue, he spoke down to me about not returning his calls as if I were a child. He was also late for appointments, and I understand there are emergencies in psychiatry, he could advise his nurses that he'll be almost 90 minutes late. I changed doctors, not happy at all with my care.
