Dr. Abu Ahmed Nasrullah, MD

Dr. Nasrullah is very knowledgeable about the lasik procedure and explains it in a way that is comforting and reassuring. The total experience was quick, without a hitch, and he was available by phone at all hours if I had any questions. Excellent bedside manner.

I arrived 10 minutes early for my I week post surgery check up.Mask on I entered the 6’ wide hallway to his office,it was lined on both sides with upwards of 12 people.I am pressed to walk thru the crowd and enter the office to see all seats taken.The counter person nicely asks if I can wait in the car for 10 minutes,I ask them to call me when ready for me.She calls and I enter again,just as crowded.I wait and people being taken as soon as they walk in.I wait some more and go to the counter,I ask why am I waiting 45 minutes?I am warned it will be at least 30 more minutes before the Dr can see me.I protest and leave.Don’t use this practice.They have all my contact numbers but were too arrogant to call and reschedule me for a different time.

Dr Nasrullah recommended prophylactic laser treatment for narrow angle glaucoma for both eyes. A second examination by another Dr. found no indication for the procedure. (Dr. Nasrullah also asked me three times if there was a “history of glaucoma in my family” Three times I repeated, “No, not that I am aware of”.

I had cornea surgery and 2 years later cateract surgery. Dr. Nasrullah is a first rate surgeon!

Dr. Nasrullah was referred to me for cataract surgery by my optometrist whose own cataract surgery was performed by Dr. Nasrullah. I had cataract surgery on both eyes, spaced two weeks apart. During my consult visit to Dr. Nasrullah, I asked the technician why he was repeating preliminary tests twice on each eye. He said that Dr. Nasrullah likes to be 100% precise in his measurements. At my pre-op appointment, I had not stopped wearing contacts for the required amount of time before surgery, so "to be safe," Dr. Nasrullah asked me to come in the following week, a few days prior to my surgery, to measure my eye one more time. I was impressed by his thoroughness, and I was not charged for him to "squeeze me in" between patients to take a final measurement. Yes, he speaks fast, so it helps to take notes and to bring an advocate with you. Once he gets through his agenda (looking at your eye test results, etc.), Dr. Nasrullah allows time for questions. Because eye drops are involved in… pre- and post-op care, my biggest concern was my severe allergic reaction to antibiotics. Dr. Nasrullah heard my fears and several weeks before my surgery, he prescribed eye drops for me to "test." He threw out his normal protocol and used antibacterial/antibiotic drops that worked for me. While everyone's results will vary, I am beyond pleased with my results, and with the entire experience in working with Dr. Nasrullah and his staff, who are professional, courteous, and who return calls promptly.

Dr Nasrulla is without a doubt the worst doctor I ever met. I need cataract surgery. I was not comfortable with Dr Nasrulla the first time I met him because he talked very fast like he was in a hurry and impatient to the point of being rude. He seemed almost annoyed by my questions, like I was wasting his time. I hoped that I’d just caught him on a bad day. But, when I went back for my pre-op appointment, I had some questions about correcting for near or distance. After all, it’s only my ability to see that is at stake. Again he was very impatient and after about 5 minutes got up and went to see another patient asking his assistant how far behind he was. I had not been wasting his time with personal talk or irrelevant questions. I was only asking about the different outcomes of correcting for near vs far, and apparently he felt I was wasting his time, time I thought I had paid for. When he returned I only had one question to ask, but before I could get it out, he interrupted and gave… an answer I didn’t need. I said calmly, “You seem like you are getting frustrated and I don’t want the doctor who is going to operate on my eyes to be upset with me because I’m counting on you to do a good job”. Instead of reassuring me that he wasn’t frustrated and assuring me that he would do a great job, he turned adversarial and said that since I feel this way, he doesn’t feel that he can or would do a good job. I was shocked! I’d never heard such an unprofessional thing come out of a doctor’s mouth. My father was an eye doctor. I am disabled and have had many surgeries and as such have met, and most importantly, have had to trust many surgeons with my life. I got up and left the office never to return. One would think that an eye surgeon would understand that eye surgery is very stressful for the patient and act patiently and compassionately. One would think that since I was paying for a per-operation appointment that the patient is entitled to ask a few questions in exchange for that fee. I still can’t believe how rude, inconsiderate, and unprofessional that man was. How can you trust a doctor who is always in a hurry to get you out of his office. Would you let a man who treats simple questions as an annoyance, operate on your eyes when your ability to see is on the line?

I have had cataracts removed from both of my eyes and emergency laser surgery on one of my eyes by Dr. Nasrullah. I will always trust my sight to him.

Best experience! Dr. Nasrullah skills and competence saved my little boy’s eye! A very tricky and special case and Dr. Nasrullah was amazing. My son was diagnosed with a cogenital cataract at the age of 7 and we didn’t know if he would be able to see! 1 day post op- he could see!! We are forever grateful to him!!! His staff are incredibly professional as well. Don’t think twice- you will not be in better hands!

Dr Nasrullah is a pleasant man and no doubt has all the quals and experience fro being a good surgeon. That doesn't mean he runs a good business however. I can only judge him by the results I've had. I had surgery in Jan for a very advanced cataract..he recommended laser only as it was so advanced...at post surgery he was very pleased with the result and referred me to a retina specialist. 5 months later and many many visits, I've just learned from another doctor, I need to have a 2nd surgery...that the lens hook from my first surgery has come dislodged and is causing all kinds of problems...sloppy workmanhiip? Maybe...natural causes, maybe...being poked in the eye by the retina specialist, maybe.... But regardless, I'm very disappointed that the Doctor has no follow-up to even ask me how things were going...that there was absolutely no communication between him and the retina specialist within the same office...and now I'm out thousands of dollars and hours of… missed time from work only to look forward to a 2nd surgery to undo what was done..a much more complicated surgery as it turns out..I'm entrusting another surgeon to perform this 2nd operation... I'm sure I'm the exception but feel like I should share this experience...my recommendation to Dr Nasrullah is to follow-up with this patients and not assume everything is fine.
