Dr. Aileen Ruth Matuk, MD

She is very thorough, and addressed all issues and concerns. However she was very inappropriate doing her assessment. She took off my clothes herself, touched and assessed my genitals with no gloves on. She was very touchy feely and made me feel awkward and uncomfortable.

The wait is long but we'll worth it cause she gives all her patients that one on one time... For me it's like a counseling session and a Dr visit all in one

I went through some bad years of doctors after a salmonella poisoning. Only Dr. Matuk was able to get me back on track. I have had many oddities since - high mercury count, gluten-intolerance, etc. - and each time she listened, ran tests, helped me find what was going on. Yes, you have to wait for your appointment. Offset that with knowing your doctor will listen is worth it. Yes, you might have to call in for test results when things are "normal". Offset that with having her sit down and kindly tell you that you will have to have biopsies done on your breast and how small the lumps really are and finally the call that says "everything looks good". I think she is great!!

Dr. Matuk was extremely late (over an hour) even though I was her first patient. She made no apalogy and didn't introduce herself. She proceeded to lecture me for half an hour for being slightly overweight. All I was there for was a Pap test. She made me strip down naked while she was in the room and didn't offer a gown or sheet like every other doctor I've been to has. It was mortifying. Then she lectured me for engaging in sex and not being married (I was 28 and in a serious relationship). This might be appropriate if it was 1960 and I was 16. Then she sent me for a "routine" chest x-ray, which I've never experienced anywhere else. Odd! Her office lost my lab results as well. Needless to say, I would not recommend her.

Dr. Matuk is a great doctor. You have to wait a while in the wating room to see her but that is because she spends a lot of time with each one of her patients.I would recomend her to anyone she is a very caring Doctor.

A good listener who is thorough to the end...and beyond! She is an 'old school' doctor who stays in the exam room while you change from your street clothes to a hospital gown...a bit awkward. Wait time is often 90 minutes so bring a book with you. But overall, she is a keeper.

DR MATUK SETS HIGH STANDARDS FOR HERSELF AND HER PATIENT'S CARE. SHES THE BEST OF THE BEST AND MY FAMILY AND I ARE SO ELATED TO HAVE HER AS OUR PERSONAL CHEIF MEDICAL COUNSELOR. HAVING REFERRED NUMEROUS INDIVIDUALS TO HER ALL HAVE THE SAME IMPRESSION. SHE IS EXECELLENT IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY. A SUPERB DOCTOR!!!

There is nobody better in Bakersfield. She is incredibly accurate, caring and compassionate. When other doctors couldn't make a diagnosis, Dr. Matuk was able to diagnosis quickly. Office staff was great too!

Cannot find enough to say! Not only #1. she is excellent in her handling of every aspect of patient management. Precise, caring,and obviously dedicated! Bravo
