Dr. Ajay Dar, MD

After 5 years or more of treatment in coordination with other specialists around the country, my husband received a phone call from Dr. Dar’s office saying he needed to “choose” a treatment provider. After many attempts to communicate with his office and requests for a call. We gave up. Not only did he call but 2 specialists called from Georgetown and Sloan Kettering. No response. My husband needed a blood transfusion but Dar’s office canceled his blood test. His blood levels dropped dangerously. Do you know what this feels like to a patient with a rare cancer whose oncologist drops him without cause? Desperate! I wish I could tell you what happened but we don’t know because we never got a call back. The kicker is that then we were charged for a missed appointment because evidently they forgot to take an appointment off their schedule. As a psychologist I am ethically required to provide referrals and interim treatment before I can “drop” a patient. You would think an oncologist… would have similar medical ethics when dealing with life threatening illness.

Staff is ice cold! Seriously, this is CANCER, folks---we could use feeling a little more cared for as we are in the fight of our lives.....this thing hurts ands IS very scary. Come on, staff, why did you enter this field anyway....for the money?

I just love Dr. Dar. He makes you feel like you're his only patient. He has the best bedside manner. He takes time in addressing your questions/concerns, as well as those family/friends may present. Dr. Dar is very knowledge and has no problem with giving you statiscial information as it relates to treatments. Also, informative of new drugs to come and those in trails. However, my first impression of office staff has not changed. There quick tempered and borderline rude.

Excellent compassionate caring doctor!

Very personable and well informed. Had breast cancer ... clear now for a year. Follow up is good. Very positive manner. Willing to assist always ... closer to home tests etc.
