Dr. Ajay Kumar Verma, MD

Doctor Verma is a no nonsense doctor. Granted, his "bedside manner" is thin, but he is a straight shooter. He treated me after my surgery for advanced colon-rectal cancer. I am now six years out and no sign of recurrence. C. Scott, Anderson, CA

Appointments are rushed, not very friendly. There is little help and when you call needing to be seen they will not move up an appointment even though you have been in the hospital. They push pain pills instead of helping. If I would have just taken more pain pills like they told me instead of going into the e.r. I wouldnt have made it through the night. I'd advise going to a different oncologist.

Dr. Verma is a horrible person, he has a God complex and is arrogant on top of it all. He is snotty, and thinks everyone is beneath him. Due to his lack of action, I wound up with stage 4 cancer and it should have never have happened. I`m not the only one who has been victimized by him. Don`t go to this doctor if you can possible help it.

Smart doctor but very condescending and does not want to answer any questions; just wants to give you information he deems necessary and not discuss anything else. Period. Definitely needs to work on his beside manner because at this point he has none.

My mom had Dr. Verma many years ago and his bed side manner was horrible. Now many years later I am going to him. He is so much better to talk to. He is a no nonsense type of guy, but if he is good that is all that should matter.

Being diagnosed with cancer is awful enough but this man made it more awful he gives you absolutely no hope he is rude doesn't listen to your concerns. Very cold individual! I saw him twice and that was enough. I left his office and cried for days at that point my husband and I switched oncologist and what a difference!

I have the highest regard for the medical family. Dr. Verma is an exception. He said we could ask him anything. We did and felt he did not hear us. He had his own agenda. Was not talkative, attentive nor was he very interested. Most people I spoke to who were in Chemo felt the same way. People were in his rooms for hours - he could have provided Internet password. No one would ask - he set up a atmosphere that was not too kind If not for his nurses we would have walked. In a time as this, you should be able to speak to your doctor. He told the nurses what to do- they did it.. and not once in the 6 treatments did I ever see him so much as have the smallest conversation with a patient. I have never known anyone with such contempt for kindness. If he is kind he does not allow it to show. Bless him and his life - he must have some real serious personal problems.

Dr. Verma is simply aweful. He left his patients for a month. These people are weeks from death. I haven't seen anyone survive. I would like to believe he is a good doctor, and we gave him the benefit of the doubt but if you new the stuff he has pulled, you would never take a loved on their. I have to watch what I say as we may take legal action in the matter later.

I have been a patient of Dr. Verma's for over 5 years, undergoing treatment at this time for non-Hodgkins lymphoma.....he is a dedicated physician who researches and plans treatments that will benefit his patients to the maximum....he is a no nonsense individual who does his best and expects his patients to follow his diagnostic regimen........we are lucky to have him in Redding and I count my blessings each day that he was referred to me by my family physician for treatment.....his office staff is wonderful and his infusion specialist in my view is the best around........how lucky can I be!!!
