Dr. Al Elias Deeb, MD

I was recently discharged and 8 days post op from having bariatric surgery. I live 3 hours away from CRMC and had my surgery there because of my insurance. My surgeon was aware of this. I ended up in the ER, in my local city because I was severely dehydrated and had abdominal pain. My treating physician here in the ER wanted to loop in my surgeon and make them aware of what was happening with me and also ask if SHE should order a CT to check for any problems. The on call doctor was Dr Deeb and he abruptly told her that he “doesn’t do sacred heart” which is the health care system closest to me. I don’t know what that even means and even my treating physician was baffled by the response. Shouldn’t a doctor care about what is happening to a patient from there practice? No one is asking him to order labs, or do anything other than to be involved because you are THE ON CALL DOCTOR. I’m thankful that my surgeon isn’t like this. Because this sort of behavior and response is awful.
