Dr. Alan Dale Alyea

After two knee surgeries on left knee, he told me I needed a brace for the rest of my life. He could not fix my knee. After I objected and said I wanted my knee fixed, he said arrogantly “it’s either pain or vain”. About one year later Dr. Timothy Lovell did, indeed, fix my left knee. That was four years ago and my knee is wonderful. Alan Alyea would have left me with a knee that didn’t work and was painful. He is a quack!

I waited about 40 minutes for a simple follow-up appointment for a cyst. Dr. Alyea burst into the room, blurted out a few bad jokes, looked at my wrist, gave me a medical dictionary definition of what causes cysts, and wouldn't listen to my concerns. This took all of two minutes. I was not impressed at all. It's too bad, too, because the nurse and NP that I saw the first time were very helpful and caring. Not a fan of this guy at all.

Dr Alyea doesn't seem to like people very much. Perhaps he doesn't have a lot of personal exposure to different demographics. I get the impression that unless you're a young fit athlete he will probably think you're an old fat idiot who has no one to blame but themselves so why should he care. Dr Alyea doesn't care about his patients, he looks out for himself.

This is the worst Surgeon I have ever been to he sent me home with no pain medication and refused to give me something that i was able to take.. if your reading this you should find a different Doctor. When I called his office to see if the other doctor there would give me something for the pain they refused as well..Find a different doctor office

I have had two shoulder surgeries by Dr. Alyea. The first surgery in 2001 was ineffective as I dislocated my shoulder shortly after rehab doing a light activity. The second surgery in 2002 has stabilized my shoulder and I have not dislocated it since. However, the scar resulting from these surgeries looks like someone stabbed me in the shoulder and cut back and forth in a z shape. Any one who saw my scar would comment on how "horrific" it looked. I would not recommend Dr. Alyea as I feel he is a factory physician who does not take pride in his work. I have since had cosmetic surgery to fix the scar on my shoulder. Please do yourself a favor and find a doctor who takes pride in their work.
