Dr. Alan Robert Kunkel, DO

I highly recommend this doctor if you want the truth with no sugar coating. He may be brusque but his wealth of knowledge more than compensates. He isn't there to tell you it's not your fault if you are the cause of your problems!

A very rude doctor. Reminds me Doc Martin without the depth of knowledge.

Dr. Kunkle has no bedside manner. He talks very loud and belittles his patients. He also speaks with the door open so not only could I hear the other patient's concerns, I heard some of her medical history so I'm sure she heard mine. Ridiculous DO NOT GO SEE THIS MAN. I surely will NOT be going back.

I don't know what is wrong with this man but, he is in serious need of psychiatric help. His anger issues are out of control. He talks to his patients with the utmost disrespect. Screams at and belittles them. Accuses people of LYING when they are not. Obvious case of projection on his part! Refuses to take ANY accountability of himself OR his office staff (yep, talking about you Helen.... what a nasty woman you are!) His medical license should be revoked and I urge ANYONE who has a complaint, to file with The Virginia Board of Medicine @ Virginia.gov If the Doctor's oath is "First Do No Harm" I'm pretty sure that includes psychological harm. If Dr. Kunkel is THAT unhappy, perhaps he should find a new profession!

What an awful person! Acts like you are stupid if you ask any questions. Don't ever go see this guy!

This man has absolute no respect for the female body or well-being. Bedside manner is aweful and completely uncalled for, his remarks are absolutely insane, clearly has anger management issues and felt it was necessary to poke my stomach after making yet another ugly remark about my weight. I am and have been working on my weight and have been making steady improvement, not that this deems a high-five, however a tummy touch is very innapropriate. After I took my time to write him a personal letter letting him know how I did not appreciate his mannerisms, he proceeded to give me a call and inquire about my drinking problem - which was "solved" years ago. Please do not waste your time, money, or effort on putting up with this man who clearly only cares for himself.

We spent 2.5 hours in this office.!!

Very rude. Yells and screams at his patients. Does not let you ask queations. Makes "cutting remarks". (My experience!!). Also overheard him tell a female patient who was to have an EKG, "Oh nobody is going to look at your breasties". Appears to have "mood swings". If you are expecting any kind of support or encouragement from this guy, FORGET IT!!!

Dr. Kunkel is an outstanding physician. He has helped me greatly with my questions concerning diabetes and nutrition.
