Dr. Alan League, MD

I saw League after I injured my knee working out. He dismissed it as arthritis and sent me on my way. He was very short with me and almost bothered that I was there. After weeks of dealing with the pain, I found another doctor, had an MRI and found a complete tear of my meniscus. I do not recommend this man.

Dr. League presents as very personable, which led me to expect much more from him than I actually received. He performed the surgery adequately, but the remainder of his "care" was substandard. He gave me NO instructions for post-surgery wound care, which resulted in a great deal of suffering. His assistant Nicole was basically useless. I would rate Dr. League as mediocre, but IBJI itself is abysmal.

I have had a hammer toe since birth, with no problems walking, running or participating in sports. When pain began at age 75, Dr. League was highly recommended by my experienced primary care physician. After reviewing the x-rays, Dr. League outlined the needed surgery and the post-op schedule very clearly. The operation (pin in toe) was done at an outpatient facility in 30 minutes and the post-op (walking surgical shoe) was exactly as explained. I returned to the doctor to have the pin removed and have had no problems since then. I am extremely happy with Dr. League and the entire process.

I dealt with Mr. League from the end of 2018 through early 2019. I'm using the term "Mr." because he doesn't deserve the title of "Dr.". He told me that an injury wasn't healing properly and would require more major surgery. Guess what? In contradiction to what he said, it's healing slowly but surely. Take my advice, go see a doctor who knows what he's doing instead of a imbecile blinded by dollar signs...

Went to him 2 times for severely arthritic ankles and knees. When I had insurance- everything was great. He gave me a shot and he had zero personality. Went back after it wore off with no insurance.. shot didn’t work. He offered to give me Rx got chronic pain and said he could refill- no problem. When it came time to refill- he let his receptionist tell me it was not possible . Completely contradictory to what he said at the visit. Knowing I have no insurance and knowing my arthritis did disappear. No other options aside from surgery which he never brought up at that last visit. Unless you have insurance so he can milk it and cut you open since he is a surgeon he’ll fo nothing to help. Sad. I barely can walk and it doesn’t matter at all to him. Terrible demeanor- would run away if I could have - if I had known better.

Dr. League is very professional and knowledgable. He explained my procedure and gave me plenty of time to ask questions. He assistant was also very helpful with questions as well as with annoying paperwork. Dr. League is not very talkative. I do like a physician who chats a bit or "jokes around" to ease the awkwardness.

I'm disappointed to hear that another ankle repair reviewer did not have a good experience. Frankly, I'm happy when my doctor is short, sweet and to the point. I don't need more chit chat and friendly banter with the guy that is going to fix my disaster. Leave that all to the people that run the front of house, reception and nursing staff. To the point.. I was on a trip to New Hampshire, had an accident in which I broke my right ankle in 3 places, ended up in a back woods ER only to be driving 4 hours to a real hospital. Fast forward from the Wednesday to the Monday in which Dr. League's team found a way to squeeze me in and the immediate made me mentally calm down from my fears of my "life is different forever"... and then cut off half of the ridiculous orange cast that we applied in New Hampshire. So, from that moment on I was in great hands. And it was my right ankle, so I relied on a lot of people for driving to and from appointments, work, etc. Dr. League and his staff… were always on point with questions, returned phone calls early on and post surgery phone calls. I pray to the All Father that I never need to see the Dr. again, but, if you are in need, this is a great, caring and competent doctor with a great and friendly staff. THIS is your doc. I hope is he done being mine. Hah.

Dr. League is an outstanding doctor! The care provided by him and his staff was excellent! He surgically repaired the Achilles tendon in my left leg in 2014. I returned to playing rugby, basketball, and baseball. In 2016, the Achilles tendon in my right leg ruptured and after another successful surgery I am enjoying my active lifestyle thanks to him.

Dr. League did a fantastic job! He personally called me the next day to check on me and see how I was dealing with the pain.
