Dr. Alan Micklin, MD

Dr. Micklin was assigned to me during my discharge from Christiana Hospital as my cardiologist for follow-up and care plan. [I would like to note here, I had met Dr. Micklin and others in the practice during the rounds while I was in the Hospital. All of them didn’t even bother to read my chart as they paraded into my room asking the same questions in the days prior to my surgery]. After discharge, and at my first (and ONLY) in-office visit with Dr. Micklin, I realized he wasn’t the right doctor for me. He rushed through my office visit, and seemed to get very annoyed with my questions regarding medication dosage and better ways to stagger them. He kept tapping his foot on the floor and looking at his Apple Watch as if he was late to catch the next train. Dr. Micklin showed no empathy to my situation, and adjusted the meds once I asked him to just followed the surgeon’s suggestion to ensure my blood pressure and heart rates were within the recommended parameters for my condition. I… left my appointment and researched for a more qualified and compassionate doctor. Never again!

I've been through a myriad of Doctors lately and he has had the BEST bedside manner that I've seen in a long time, even after I told him, "I 'hate' Doctors'", he understood and laughingly agreed. His care has been compassionate and caring and his staff is very nice. I'm happy to report, even with a strong family history of heart disease, I'm good to go (for a while)... Thank YOU Dr Micklin; You've put my mind at ease!

Dr. Micklin has handled my motherâ??s care for the past 8 years we had moved from another practice and have been so pleased. Dr. Micklin has a great bedside manner when you are spending time with him at his office his time is with you as the patient you feel comfortable to ask any questions. The important thing is he makes my mother feel at ease he talks at a level she can understand. I would send any of my friends or family to his office. The staff is very warm and kind we love Abby
