Dr. Alan Edward Powell

I few years ago my son's eye was red and swollen. I took him to a few different doctors with them all telling me the same thing. They all just thought it was something in his eye or a scratch that would heal itself with time. I had heard about Dr. Powell and I decided to give him a try. As soon as we walked in the staff there told me that he had an eye infection that was moving to his brain. If he was not treated he could die. They gave him a shot of a very strong antibiotic and sent him to Children's Mercy to get treated. He stayed there for 4 days.

He's the best, his bed side manner is amazing. As a kid he was always friendly, and would draw a man on the tongue depressors upon request. He always seemed to get whatever was wrong with me fixed. I look back at my childhood and the doctors visits were always fun. He is a great person.

Dr. Powell has helped my two daughters stay healthy and if you have been to his office you know that he is incredibly caring and he walks through the halls whistling so you always know he is coming. IT'S GREAT!!!!(:

As children, my husband & I both saw Dr Powell. I remember his Mickey Mouse ties & his kind smile. Our teenage sons have had Dr P care for them all their lives. He has seen us through many emergencies with knowledge and compassion. We have never felt rushed, he always has time to answers all of our questions. His staff is top of the line! He & his staff treat us like family. Infant to teenager, Dr Powell knows how to care for children. We are so glad to call him Grand Doctor!

This doctor knows what he is talking about. He has an excellent staff, works quickly to make sure your child is seen promptly and with care. He doesnt believe in computerizing everything so you receive a much more personal experience with him and his staff. I will take my children to him always! If he would see adults, I would sign up too!

Dr. Powell is an amazing doctor. Every time I have a concern with my son (I'm a little over paranoid being a first time mom) He and his wonderful nursing staff are always so eager to help. When I call there is a RN with loads of experience that is very eager to help and always takes the time to teach me and educate me on certain concerns that may arise in which I don't need to come into the office. They are all so wonderful. The only concern I have is that even with an appt. you usually have to wait a long time in the waiting room to finally get in to see the doctor. But... they take their time when dx the problem, I never feel rushed. So it's worth the wait to make sure my son has the BEST there is.
