Dr. Alan Kenneth Sher, MD

Welcome! IÂ’m Dr. Alan Sher, the co-founder of North Bay Pediatrics. I would be very privileged to participate in your childÂ’s healthcare. Let me tell you a little about myself.

I was fortunate to grow up living in and exploring many different countries, each with unique cultures, languages and people. I returned to my home in California in time to go to high school in Oakland and college at U.C. Berkley. Having the opportunity again to travel, I went to the University of London to study for a MasterÂ’s Degree in Neurophysiology. The Universite Catholique de Louvain, Belgium and Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines were my next stops before returning to the U.S. for my medical degree and pediatric training at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and Beth Israel Medical Center, both in New York. I was now a pediatrician, Board Certified, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics! My years as a student and physician were enriched by participating in disaster and emergency …medical work in remote areas around the world. These experiences taught me that human life is precious and have motivated me to use my knowledge to always provide the best medical care I can.

I still manage to sneak off with my wife and children to explore yet another exotic corner of the globe. Each place brings new kids and cultures and reminds me that I am very privileged and have the opportunity to help children as I do.
