Dr. Alana Ivy Franklin, MD

I’m so grateful to have Dr. Franklin as our doctor. She’s an extraordinary combination of knowledge and compassion. My husband and I are both physicians and we couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Dr Franklin has been my PCP for several years, and is hands down the best I have worked with. She takes her time, asks layered questions and includes me as a partner in understanding and implementing her suggestions to help me maintain excellent health. She has identified and provided proper courses of treatment for issues that were never identified by previous practitioners, has excellent follow up and presets as totally focused on me when I have an appointment. In addition the other practitioners and office staff I have interacted with perform at a similar high level, and always in a pleasant manner. I Highly recommend Dr Franklin and her practice

Doctor franklin has made herself available to me no matter the time or day. There can be a wait at the office but she is worth the wait. She shows kindness and empathy while thinking outside of the box. I would definitely recommend her to my friends and family.

Doctor franklin provides personalized care in a prompt and timely manner. She always has a smile on her face and makes me feel extremely comfortable and at ease while treating me in a multifaceted manner! Being in my 20s it’s so nice having a doctor so open minded and approachable! Recommend her to anyone and everyone!

Doctor Franklin is no ordinary doctor, she goes above and beyond for me. She takes time to listen to my issues and then provides answers and education while providing top notch care. There is no doubt that she is the best doctor around and can provide the best care for anyone. I highly recommend her!

I have never gone to a doctor who was more willing to ascribe blame to her patients medical issues than Dr. Franklin. I always felt on the defensive with her because she always had a phony, condescending smile which barely hid her disgust for me as a person. Not sure what I did to offend her but all I know is she really found ways to blame my weight for conditions I actually needed surgery or specialty care for. If you are looking for a doc who is more intent on punishing people she views to be guilting rather than giving a patient centered caring approach, look no further than Dr. Franklin.

I've been a patient of Doctor Franklin's since 2013, and I'm so happy with her care that I switched all of my children over to her. She is kind, attentive and down to earth, and she makes you feel extremely comfortable. The staff is overwhelmed but also good, but I can't recommend Dr. Franklin enough as a PCP.

Dr Franklin never showed up for my 2nd appt or i can never get her on the phone and just sends a letter on who to see for what else happens or come in for a appt darn nurses nurse prac. seem to fill in all the time . with no help at all. no one at her office told me shes running late or could not keep the appt the staff and nurses ARE JUST USELESS AND THOSE NURSE P. i should have stayed with Mass G. Hospital for a primary DR. i never heard of this conduct and a Dr who never shows up and i cant get a appt or reach her one the phone Dr s are busy but not 24/7 just letters and those N.P. that whole group is just a horror .

Recently I had a situation where I needed more care than expected from a PCP. Dr Franklin made herself available to talk over the phone multiple times over a few weeks, emailed with me regularly and scheduled me for an in office follow up. Her ability to show extreme kindness to me when I was distressed helped me trust her more with my story. She went above and beyond.

I've been with Alana for quite some time now and I've just never been satisfied. She's condescending, forgets what we've talked about, and unwilling to think outside the box. Along with this, the entire practice is extremely disorganized, unhelpful, and unfriendly. In the midst of the healthcare Mecca that is Boston, you can certainly do better than Dr. Franklin or Wellesley Family Care.
