Dr. Albert Allen Crook, DO

Dr. Crook is one of the best doctor we have ever visited. He is really knowledgeable, very professional and always patient.

It has been my good fortune that I met Dr. Albert Crook several years ago during a catastrophic low in my life. He helped me get back together, and has overseen my mental health and growth since. He is very astute professional, as well as a compassionate and caring man. On several occasions, he has called me after hours to check on me. While I am undergoing rehabilitation for a major medical procedure and unable to travel, Dr. Crook is even providing a housecall for me! He truly cares for his patients as individuals, and I highly recommend him to prospective clients who like the human touch in their professional relationships.

Dr. Crook will start out with you and treat you with great concern. After awhile and he gains your trust, he reqires you to come in monthly even if you are stableized on your medication, It would be ok except after that, he will only ask you three question like: how's your mood? Are you suicidal. Do you need more meds. All the while he never looks at you and types on a typewriter and looks through his notes (probably because he can't remember who you are or what you said) he spends about 10-15 minutes with you, basically kicks you out of his office and bills your insurance for a whole hour. Meds meds, meds, hehas no interest in your problems! Then if you complain, he closes your case and says to move on to another doctor. That's when you realize he never cared about you in the first place,

Helped me throught the worst time in my life. Prayed for help and feel he was the answer to that prayer. His help and care probly saved my life. He always followed up. And yes have and will continue to recommend his services to family and friends.

On my first visit, after expressing my concerns about putting my son on medication, Dr. Crook told me, in front of my son, "You're talking out both sides of your mouth." As insulting as that was, I told myself that I don't need to like this guy for him to help my son. However, on the second visit, I asked Crook about the dosage he was prescribing for my son as I wanted to make sure I understood correctly that he was supposed to continue taking the medication he was already taking while starting up the new medication Crook was prescribing. He interrupted me by saying, "You're hovering!" I told him that I will not stop being concerned about my son, and I will not stop asking questions either. This joker is VERY insecure!

Dr. Crook is a God sent to our family. He has worked with my son for years. He has always been supportive to my son and myself. I know if I have a question I can call him and ask. He has never made me feel stupid for asking questions. I wish there were more doctors like him out there. His staff is so friendly and supportive, you are not a number but a person.

I am BiPolar 1 and OCD. I found Dr Crook when I moved up to Idaho 4 years ago and count my blessings for it. He is compassionate and caring and has been known to check up on me after hours or between appointments. I have been through a lot of doc's over the years and Dr Crook is the first one that really seems to get me and my illness. If you are fortunate enough to get into see him you will be glad you did. He is very specialized in several specific areas and is a true expert in BiPolar disorder.

Dr. Crook is an excellent doctor. He is attentive and goes above and beyond to give his patients (at least me), complete attention. When it was decided that I should go to a hospital in Texas (i live in Idaho), he helped to line up the arrangements and make sure the following day that everything was being taken care of. He did this on his own time, as I was in a very bad place when he intervened and worked until 7:30 pm)(. If you can give me a resource to a 'better' doctor in this area, please feel free to chime in. Otherwise make sure you're criticism is valid. This man has been a godsend to me.

Willing to listen to you describe your symptoms. Makes clear what is his part and what is your part in your recovery. Is patient and will not give up on you. He want's to see you get better however medications take time to get to their desired dosage. Remember there is not the same combination of medication that work the same for every person. I know others who have seen other psychiatrist in this area and they have told me Dr. Crook is the best, I think so to.

This man has lived up to his last name: Crook. Be very careful. Ethically and morally, he is a disgrace to his profession.
