Good experience. Dr. Heck is always, friendly, attentive and gives me good advice.

Zero stars if I could . One of the WORST encounters / experiences I’ve ever had in my entire life ! HORRIBLE bed side manner , ZERO empathy. I went in with concerns about my mothers ( The person I care about MOST in this world ) declining mental status ( dementia runs deep in my family ) within 5 minutes of meeting her , he decided she was “ fine “‘and flipped the tables on my concern . Asked her a couple questions about her crafting etc . When I shared details about my mom and I arguing more and how it was breaking my heart etc , he blamed me . I shared a technique with him that I was using to help me to not respond with impatience to my moms declining health ( including memory loss and loss of patience with me that lead to arguments ) he mocked me and made the situation so much worse . It was an absolutely heartbreaking experience. The things he said about me in his notes and in person were unacceptable. He pretty much called me abusive and he actually used the word delusional about… me in his notes . He had ZERO empathy for my concerns about the person I cherish most in this world , my rock , my everything. I was crying and felt helpless, I was looking so forward to the appointment and getting some answers only to have everything turned around on me . He did order additional testing , I will give him that , There are so many other things he said and did at that appointment that really left a scar on my heart . What a HUGE disappointment. If you take a loved one there with concerns about their declining mental health , make sure you show NO emotion because he will use it against you and throw it in your face . I’ve worked with many , many doctors in my years as a nurse . He is MOST DEFINITELY the worst I’ve ever come across as far as empathy and concern for someone with anxiety , worry and loss of hope . If you’re reading this , please save yourself the headache and heartache, it’s definitely not worth it . I was really looking forward to meeting this doctor and having someone I could count on and help to ease my worries and concerns . What an utter disappointment. I left feeling sad and more hopeless. Side note , if you’ve read this far , the technique I was using that I learned from another one of my drs when I was going to therapy for my anxiety has really helped . As stupid as he chose to believe it was , it’s worked miracles with mine and my moms relationship and my relationships in general. You put a rubber band on your wrist and snap it when you’re having negative thoughts etc . The intention is to redirect your brain into more positive thinking . Can’t help but to remember something my mother told me long ago …. ***What do you call a med student that graduated at the bottom of their class ? … “Doctor “ ..

Very dismissive about symptoms and diagnosis was only to throw pills at it. Cancelled appointments several times, then forced to wait months to get another appointment. Then when asked to write a referral to see a different neurologist who could actually see me, he refused to do so.

No compassion, at all

This doctor is completely incompetent. He made inappropriate comments in front of my 16 year old daughter. I came in with symptoms that indicated a stroke. He completely dismissed this. He did not read my health history, ask me about my health history, and did not do any type of physical exam. This appointment was a circus from the word go. I highly recommend not going to see this doctor.

I saw him today because I was referred to a neurologist. My doctor mentioned MS as a possible cause of my symptoms and he dismissed it entirely. Said "stop right there. Dont even go there. MS doesnt cause pain." Yet with even a little research you can discover that it does. His education seems out dated. I tried to inform him of the things my doctor and I had gone over and the testing we had done and he was disinterested, if not annoyed by my attempt to explain what led up to the appointment with him. Dr. Heck didnt want to hear it and implied that my primary physician was stupid for suggesting such a thing. Dr. Heck basically implied that the pain I experience, all of my symptoms, are in my head and are a result of my inability to manage stress... He went on a nice little rant of his own anger management issues for a good ten minutes or more while I sat there smiled, laughed awkwardly and nodded. I felt he judged me from the moment I walked in the door. I don't feel he is an adequate… doctor or compassionate enough for anyone dealing with something that isn't remotely obvious out right. He probably should seek to educate himself on information that should be in his realm of expertise. It is very disheartening to walk in and, right from the start, be told something you automatically know is false because of minor research you did yourself prior to being seen. If you have an appointment with him and youve never seen him before, good luck. I hope he treats you better than he did me and some others from reviews Ive been reading.

As with a few other reviews, I found Dr. Heck to be rude, arrogant and certainly no compassion for his patients. No one visits a doctor for a social visit. You're there because something is wrong. Instead of trying to figure out what's wrong, he dismisses your concerns and gives you a speech about what's in the literature that he studied. His words to be exact were "It's like a dragon chasing its tale". In other words he doubts what you're feeling is real. Awful doctor and a waste of my time and money.

At the time I was only 18 and had no clue just how Dr. Heck would be saving my life. Now about 10 years later I realize how thankful I am that I saw Dr. Heck. He quickly was able to diagnose that I had MG, and recommended the best options for the most normal life I could have. I had a thymus removed, and although Iâ??m still not 100% normal anymore I can function almost as good as anyone else. Back then I think they made new patients wait a while, and I ended up falling down a flight of stairs and had a concussion, so they saw me sooner, but hopefully now they realize how important new patients are and see them soon.
