Dr. Albert A. Panozzo, MD

I finally accepted the fact that I had to have carpal tunnel surgery after years of denial. The brace and injections were no longer helping this needle pointer to the point that my quality of life was suffering. I was recommended to Dr Panozzo and from my first visit, thru surgery to my post-op follow-ups I had the best care and was treated to a level of professionalism that I have come to expect at Monti. I highly recommend Dr Panozzo and his staff.

Excellent manner and surgery with no problems after a severely fractured scaphoid. Can’t imagine a better hand surgeon.

This man looked at me like he rather be playing golf then be at work! Touched my hand for 5 seconds and only the one hand when I was there for both hands. I will not see him again nor do I recommend him!

Dr. Ponazzo fixed my right hand after broken wrist injury. My hand feels normal again and definitely happy with professional service provided. Doctor was thorough in providing explanation through-out the whole procedure and follow-ups. Also His staff at Montefiore gave great Services with all my visits.

Dr. Panozzo could care less about a patient - particularly a Medicaid patient, despite the premise of his practice taking Medicaid. He did everything possible to make my life miserable in trying to cancel the appointment before it happened, literally having a staff member call to try to move the appointment to an earlier time while I was en route for the scheduled appointment - forcing me to needlessly have to reschedule! His office staff is equally miserable to deal with. Adding to the substandard treatment, Panozzo refused to return my call! It's bad enough that many of us have to be on Medicaid as our only means of insurance under Obamacare. But it is beyond unacceptable when a Dr. like Panozzo who is supposed to take Medicaid treats patients on Medicaid like dirt.

I went to this doctor for my elbow, it had some bone spurs. I was expecting an arthroscopic procedure to clean the spurs. Since I already saw another doctor, I was told I have spurs all over my elbow area. However he cannot operate on my elbow due to the complexity of the location of the spurs. So, due to my insurance, I ended up seeing Panozzo. The first time I saw him, I told him I had pains and cannot bend or straighten my elbow due to bone spurs since I already saw a doctor and an x-ray. To which he replied â??whatâ??s a bones spurs?â??. That did not make me feel assured. But we went on with the process, had another xray, CT scan, then the operation. I asked him about recovery time and the general question about the procedure to which he did not give an assuring answer again. So I just looked it up online. After the operation, I went to my post-op visit, then another follow up to remove the stitches, then the post 6 weeks op with PT. I told him about my concerns and lingering… pain to which he answered â??come back in 2 monthsâ??, again no definite answer! I feel like it is a struggle dealing with this doctor and his answer. I know he caters to a lot of patients on his daily routine, but it would be nice to get some answers. Until now I still have pains in my elbow that has not gone away and I do not have any answers from him. I had few surgeries with different doctors; I would say this is the worst doctor out of all of them. I would not recommend Panozzo to anyone.

Dr Panozzo fixed my mother in law's right hip, and did an excellent job. A more senior surgeon previously replaced her left hip, but the leg ended up being shorter and not aligned.I wish Dr Panozzo had been there the first time around.
