Albert Telfeian, MD, PhD, is director of pediatric neurosurgery at Hasbro Childrens Hospital. Prior to joining Hasbro Childrens Hospital, he was an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia and associate professor of neurosurgery at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Telfeian is a graduate of Columbia University and the MD/PhD program at Brown University. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in epilepsy electrophysiology at Yale University and his neurosurgical residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed fellowship training in spine and functional epilepsy surgery at Switzerlands Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois, and a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. Telfeian has been nationally recognized for both his research and clinical contributions to neurosurgery. He was the recipient of the American Association of Neurologic Surgeons Stereotactic and …Functional Neurosurgery Research Award, the American Epilepsy Society Young Investigator Award, and the J. Kiffin Penry Pediatric Epilepsy Award. He was twice named "Surgeon of the Year" by Covenant Medical Center and was named one of the nations 15 leaders in neurosurgery in the October 2011 edition of Newsweek.

So Telfian sent me to the Warwick Pain center, after I asked him if there was anykind of doctor I could go to figure out why I am suffering for so long, and losing so much sleep to pain (to the point that it is dangerious... but what am I going to do? call into work everytime I have a few rough nights? I'll lose my job, then my health insurance, then my house and everything else. I have to keep pushing on and just hope I don't have an accident.). On my second visit the DR. looks me right in the eyes and says "I can't prescribe you opiates, I see nothing on your imaging." I say, "thats fine I don't want opiates, I want some treatment that will help me get better." She says, "well I'm sorry there is nothing we can do for you." I really have to wonder what the heck Telfian told them on my referal.

I went to Telfeian because my father had seen him and said he was the best, and he'd be able to figure out my problem. He looked over my imaging with me for 10 minutes then said I don't see anything I can do for you (I'm fine with that), but then he proceded to go on to give me a lecture on how all of the healthcare providers, I've been to, are good smart doctors he'd send his own family to... That's all well and good, but I've been to all of them, and I'm still suffering. He didn't offer up anythging to help me, I had to actually say to him, well maybe the problem isn't my spine, is there any kind of doctor I can go to, to figure out what is going on? Then he refered me to warwick pain clinic. You'd think if a patient came to you who said he'd been suffering for 6-7 years you'd try a little harder to help...

The only problem, I have is he is no longer in New Jersey.

The staff at this office is horrible! Never answers the phone and doesn't call patients back for days even after leaving several messages! Very rude. If it wasn't for the doctors good work would have gone else where.
