Dr. Albert Lon Ungricht, MD

WARNING: If you're going in for a prescription for contacts, you will have to pay a "contact fitting fee" before you'll receive the prescription. This fee for me was $69. Find a different eye doctor that bills the fitting fee as part of the eye exam-- then your insurance will cover it. I'm movin' on to another doc! My total time was 2 hours-- and all I needed was a prescription for glasses and contacts. Half the time was spent "fitting" different contacts on my eyes. I sensed that the staff was trying to convince me to buy the ones they had in stock. Nope, I said, I'll order 'em online.

I accompanied my 92 year old mother-in-law to the doctor as she was having difficulty seeing rather suddenly. After taking so much time with thorough testing, he sat down and gently broke the news that she has macular degeneration in both eyes, but promptly followed this bad news with the treatment he could offer. Many doctors treat elderly patients like they are invisible and this man looked directly at her and spoke consisely and with respect. She trusted him and was very attentive to his directions and felt like TOGETHER they could work on this problem.

Don't listen to the naysayers, this is a great practice with friendly staff, who helped me recover from a longtime ailment.

Dr. Ungricht was superior in his diagnosis and care!! After seeing several doctors (one being an Opthalmogist)a diagnosis could not be made for severe eye pain after sinus surgery. This pain became so great that it was impossible to work etc. Dr. Ungricht found the problem and followed through making sure the eye was completely healed. His background, knowledge and care was far more superior that any of the previous doctors. I would highly recommend Dr. Ungrich, that is if you want someone that knows what he is doing.
