Dr. Aleana Young Hilsinger

Aleana Young is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 14 years of experience in the mental health field. She is passionate about working with women, LGBTQIA+, and trauma victims. She primarily works with adults that are dealing with mental health issues, life stressors, and traumatic experiences. Aleana specializes in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and trauma-related Disorders. She has a lot of experience working with bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and PTSD. It is her mission to empower those that have been oppressed by violence and prejudice. Aleana completed her Master of Science in Social Work at the University of Tennessee. She attended UT for undergraduate studies as well and obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology. People often appreciate that she is open-minded and a "non-religious" therapist that leans more toward spirituality and healing. Aleana has certifications in mindfulness-based Therapy, dialectical behavioral …therapy (DBT), as well as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). She also utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and intuitive counseling. Aleana has been a Reiki Master/ Teacher since 2000 and incorporates this into sessions when requested. She is passionate about empowering her clients to find their inner strengths and supporting them on their healing journey. Many of us have experienced anxiety, depression, or difficult life changes. She is here to help you learn how to cope with extreme emotions and anxiety; teach you how to overcome a depressive episode, manage anxiety disorders, or complete EMDR for trauma-related conditions. She teaches meditation skills and utilizes a strength-based approach to help you become the best version of yourself. Aleana encourages her clients to embrace their authentic selves, increase self-love, and find the things in life that bring them joy.
