Wonderful!!!

My first obstetrician closed her practice so I went to Giovinazzo when I became pregnant with my second child in 2015. She delivered my son and it was a terrible experience from the moment I started going there till he was delivered. I should’ve changed doctors during the process but I stuck with her and it was a terrible decision. She was barely ever at my appointments. I always had to wait at least an hour in the waiting room every time. The week I was due, I waited for over 2 hours in the waiting room. One of the few times I actually did see her during this pregnancy, she told me my child might be born with fragile x syndrome because my genetic testing showed that I had it, which was totally not true. I was already aware of the presence of this genetic defect because this was my second pregnancy and the way she explained to me was completely inaccurate. I have a very early genetic pre-mutation that can be passed down and could potentially pass along a worsened pre-mutation and if it… is, it can cause my grandchildren to have the genetic mutation. This is no where near what she told me. She basically was telling me my child would most likely have the genetic disorder. If I wasn’t already aware of the truth or maybe didn’t understand, she would have made me believe my son would have been born with fragile x. I was lucky enough to have already had a consultation with a geneticist previously and fully understand the situation but I was just shocked at what she said to me. Just horrible. Eventually when I was in labor, she didn’t even show up until I was ready to push. When I first got to the hospital, the nurses told me I was going to be given Pitocin to speed labor along but I had just gotten there and there was zero need for Pitocin at all. I refused it and they told me the doctor wanted me to be put on it so I had to refuse repeatedly because there was absolutely no need for it. She finally showed up hours later when I was 10cm and ready to go. She was rude to me the entire time, started talking to the nurses and other doctors, after I delivered my son and she was stitching me up, about some TV show she was watching and acted as if I wasn’t even there in that vulnerable position. Afterwards, I experienced postpartum anxiety attacks and asked her for medication and she told me to go see a psychiatrist but gave me no referral and never followed up with me. I wish I had written this review right after it happened so I could help other women avoid having this same experience but to be honest, it has been extremely hard for me to even talk about this because, frankly, it traumatized me. I ended up having another baby and went to Drs. Pavlides, Benson, and Shats and that experience was so much better. They are caring doctors that I still see for my gynecological visits and sincerely wish I had gone to them in the first place. Go to them instead. Giovinazzo is a horrible doctor.

No social distancing whatsoever! Office is packed. Shame on you Dr. G.

I'm not sure why she has many good reviews on google. For one thing, her wait time is insane, and they take people before you even if you're on time for your appointment. I was 10 mins early to my 1015 appt and someone had an appt for 1030 and came in at 10 and they were seen before me. What is the point of scheduling an appointment then ?? Also, I never met the doctor - even after being told I would meet her that same day. Instead I met the PA who was extremely dismissive and a bit condescending. She seemed annoyed that I had questions and concerns even though I have a confirmed issue going on via my sonogram. Finally, after expressing how I am prone to bladder infections they failed to ask me for urine specimen on 3 different occasions, I actually had to remind them and when I did they had no more specimen cups- I had to use a regular plastic cup . . I will never go back and it's quite concerning that a doctor who is suppose to be monitoring patients carrying a life can be so… aloof and unorganized. They need to stop accepting new patients if they passed their capacity to care for patients adequately.

I got lucky to pick a great practice!! I really had nobody to ask so I went with Dr. Giovinazzo’s great reviews. I was happy to have a great experience from the first call. The front desk girls were helpful and squeezed me in. I was treated very well and not only got my pap but an ultrasound and all my yearly bloodwork. ??

I knew delivering my first son would be tough but Dr. G made the entire experience feel like a breeze. After a C-Section performed by Dr. Giovinazzo I was on my feet in a week with no problem. The procedure itself was (I dare say) a very pleasant experience. I now have a healthy toddler and a happy healthy mama. I recommend Dr. G to everyone I know!

The doctor has no bedside manners whatsoever , she will insult you right in front of your face!!!!! I really wish I can switch doctors but it's too late (39 weeks) I will be finding another doctor once I give birth.

Dr G is uncaring and has an awful bedside manner . She has too many patients and can't dedicate her time to each person. Dr G spends about 30 seconds in the room with you while disregarding your concerns. As a 34 week pregnant woman with pre existing medical conditions and being ignored and almost treated like a second class citizen I can't trust her to deliver my baby. I will be seeking a new doctor for my delivery.. it's really a shame because her staff of sonogram techs and Pa are wonderful. I'd be willing to bet that most patients wait the 2 hours to see her because of them and not so much because of her. She's disregarded so many of my concerns it's almost scary. I wish I would have went with my gut instinct and switched doctors at 15 weeks preggo.

Appearances are deceptive. And the fact that she holds a doctor's degree and has a practice does not mean she is an expert in her field. If you are planning to have a baby, you will be forced to get a C section, whether you choose it or not. And even if you get her private number to call during emergencies, she will never respond when you call her during an actual emergency (water broke). The office staff, PA and all others are wonderful and that unfortunately is what has been a saving grace for her.
