Dr. Aleksandar Curcin, MD

I am scheduled to have an exam by this person in the next few weeks. When doing a license search in Washington State, I was/am unable to find any information about this doctor being duly licensed, except for in Oregon, where there is no photo of him, and he is not listed as a provider for the clinic his name is associated with. I am concerned. I do have a currently open L&I claim, which the insured/insurer wants to deny. I have been seen by three doctors at a clinic the Insurer gave me. I think I am being screwdrivered by the insurer who works for my employer, who is self insured. I shall keep researching, but buyers beware! He may not be licensed at all.

Under Washington industrial insurance laws, an employer or self insured can refer an injured worker out for a medical exam, colloquially called "independent" to a physician of their choosing. Aleksander Curcin, MD was the referral physician for an injured worker client of mine who has undergone multiple back and shoulder surgeries. Not unexpectedly, following a brief 10 minute exam in a non medical office, Dr. Curcin opined my client fit for duty, with no physical impairments. His opinions were contrary to attending physicians and other medical providers opinions which were based on surgeries and treatment. Dr. Curcin's opinions and conclusions lacked any medical foundational basis, but the insurance carrier got the opinion it paid for.

Only spent a few minutes in an Independent Medical Exam. Very poor doctor!

Failed to diagnose and caused worsening.

I wouldn't even call this individual a doctor. Beware, especially if getting a IME from him. You could show up in a wheelchair with amputated legs, and he would report that you are perfectly fine. His 8 minute exam will leave you speechless. The facilities he contracts with are beyond filthy, and his behavior is shady. You can see the hate in his eyes. He will never side with the patient, based on several reviews I have read about on him. Any of the positive reviews I have read are 10 to 12 years ago when he was an actual surgeon. He is clearly paid to side with the insurance companies and work places that hire him to do the IME's. I am shocked at the amount of complaints made against this man. He has clearly hurt hundreds of people in his IME career, and is incompetent. Avoid this individual at all costs. Don't say you were not warned! I wish I could be at the gates of heaven when he is forced to answer his sham and lie filled life.

Spot On! With the brief exam! As an IME for work mans comp. He is very aware of our flawed laws on medical malpractice and doctor- patient relationship. He takes abuses this by his 5 minute sham exams and releasing you for full duty. People- we have an epidemic when it comes to fraudulent IME's - TAKE A STAND!! REPORT THESE DOCTORS TO THE MEDICAL COMMISSION/BOARD/QUALITY ASSURANCE. Overload the investigators with our complaints of "Fraudulent Misrepresentation" This is the ONLY WAY this will come to an eventual end, and rights for the injured will be expanded.

Dr Curcin is a payed off doctor for state and fed workers comp he fails to spend 8 minutes does' do a proper six edition exam which should take at least one hour.

Saw Dr. Curcin in his capacity as an OWCP "Independent" Medical Examiner. He is completely fraudulent and biased. My exam lasted less than 5 minutes, yet after telling me to lift my arms and bend my knees he felt confident to declare me 100% fit. Typical OWCP doctor. No doubt his private practice in Coos Bay is suffering and he needs the extra cash. The examination office in Everett WA doesn't even have a sign on the outside of the building to help you find where the office is. Completely sketchy, but nothing you can do about it. Reminds me of Vladimir Putin, don't even bother trying to appeal to reason or evidence, he won't be listening, but will give you a "polite" smile and shake your hand.

The staff is rude for the most part especially the medical assistant Shanna. They talk about other patients in a rude manner also. The Dr was short rude and basically did nothing other than say I had protruding disks but no solution. They have some great folks working in the surgery center though.

When Dr. Curcin operated on me I was 15 years old.. He fused my L4 and L5 regions of my back. He was very responsive to any issues I had. I am now 26 years old and I am glad we found him. Every other doctor wanted to put me in a back brace and and give me meds to deal with the pain. Dr. Curcin found the issue took care of it. Thank you Dr. Curcin I appreciate you.
