Dr. Alex Velasco Del Rosario, MD

Has been my doctor for 14 years now. Through many psychotic episodes. Is available quickly when it is an emergency. He is caring and thoughtful. He doesn't force you to take medication if you don't want to but does recommend it. I generally listen to his advice. His old office used to be crowded and it took 2 hours to see him. I see him by phone now which is not as good is some ways but better in other ways. I do miss the in person visits. He will change meds if you have a problem with your meds. He will keep trying until you have meds that work for you as long as you talk to him and are honest and open.

After a traumatic experience which resulted in 9 days of sleep deprivation I had a mental breakdown and found myself in a facility with this quack as the attending Phyciatrist. After 3 minutes of him interviewing me, he wrote in my medical file that I was bi polar. If this was not bad enough, the cowardly weasel didn't even notify me of his mal practice quality diagnosis. It didn't matter to him that I have been a professional jet pilot for 23 years. The fact that he got his "degree" from the Philapeans says it all.

The comments about waiting up to two hours or more even when you're on time are true. The man is cold. Asks you how you're doing and smiles, but will often laugh if you try to explain painful feelings, look away and ignore it, or both. What's worse is the man has no sensitivity to patient's religious beliefs, and doesn't think it's a big deal to attack them or try to deprogram his clients.

Would not prescribe the meds i had beeh taking b4 seeing him. He called the phaarmacy to verify my prescriptions which was very embarissing. I will not go back to see him!

Horrible

Dr Del Rosario works within a practise called Central Psychiatry that has lots of doctors but not nearly enough administrative staff. If they would just do some hiring i would be able to give Central psych higher ratings for stuff like ; I've waited 2 hours to see my doctor once; but overall It's worth the wait at this point; He listens, is patient and cautious.

Wonderful person and a great Doctor

Dr. Del Rosario has been my Dr. for 6 years now. He's pretty helpful. The office is a nightmare because he is usually overbooked. But he's a good guy. If you want counseling, you need to see a counselor, but he's a good psychiatrist

Terrible overall

If you want to wait 90 minutes past your appointment time in a room full of critters listening to an incompetent office staff whine and carry on like they're in a bar, this might be the place for you. Aside from the incredibly unprofessional environment you will find yourself immersed in, Dr. Del Rosario appears to simply Google your symptoms and throw the highest rated medication at you. He doesn't even give a proper diagnosis yet alone offer any insight into tackling any issues you are facing. He just throws pills at you until he hopefully finds something that works. You would be better off somewhere else, anywhere else.
