Dr. Fong was OK. But when you have the nurse calling about lab results you've already read yourself online in the portal... and she tells you "now, some of these are critical, SO DON'T FREAK OUT!" - ya, doesn't make you feel very good.

I saw Dr Fong during a scary time in my life. I was having debilitating headaches and lots of troubling neurological symptoms that landed me in the ER and eventually the hospital. I knew from Google and the ER doc that my symptoms pointed to a spinal fluid leak. Dr Fong did some tests but basically dropped me like a hot potato when he couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Sent me home in worse condition than I came in (I couldn’t be upright for more than a few minutes without extreme nausea and head pain, along with other symptoms). Said to rest and follow up in a month. Desperate, I went to KU Med five days later where their neurologist quickly diagnosed a leak, found it via imaging, and patched it (all tests/procedures Dr Fong didn’t advise) I owe my health to KU and knowing when to get a second opinion. I’m sure he’s a good doctor for some things but he admitted he had little experience with CSF leaks and I don’t know why he didn’t refer me to someone else instead of recommending a… month of rest. Very disappointed.
