Dr. Alexander Jeffrey Kim, DDS

Dr. Alexander J. Kim currently practices in Cupertino, CA in a dental practice that is limited to Periodontics and Dental implants. Dr. Kim began his journey for life long learning at the tender age of 13 where he was accepted and attended the prestigious east coast boarding school, Phillips Exeter Academy, during his preparatory years.  He then attended Occidental College in Los Angles, CA where he majored in Biochemistry with a minor in Economics.  Following college, he studied dentistry at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, CA which is one of the handful of dental schools that have an accelerated 3 year dental program.  Dr. Kim then attended the University of Pittsburgh for his residency in Periodontics.  During that 3 year program in Pittsburgh, PA he studied & practiced the methodologies that pertain to surgical & non-surgical therapies that allow for success in developing healthy jawbones, gums, smile esthetics, and dental implants.
Marlene Hobson – Registered …Dental Hygienist
Marlene is a native of San Jose and attended local schools before graduating from Foothill College
Department of Dental Hygiene. She has worked the majority of her career in Periodontics. Her goal is
to support and encourage each patient by creating a personalized oral hygiene plan that will focus on
individual needs for the long term.
Xenia Mackauf - Registered Dental Hygienist
Xenia graduated from The University of Southern California School of Dentistry with a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. She received the Outstanding Clinician Award from the faculty and
was invited to teach at USC as a clinical instructor for the Dental Hygiene Department. Xenia moved to
Northern California and has been practicing in our periodontal office since 1987. Xenia speaks fluent
Spanish. She enjoys running, hiking and sewing.
Sheri Frazier - Registered Dental Hygienist
Sherri graduated from Foothill College Dental Hygiene Department, and considers herself fortunate to
have focused her 28 year career in both periodontics and general dentistry. Empowering patients to
reach their dental goals as well as look forward to their return appointments has always been Sherri's
focal point. Sherri has been with our periodontal practice since 2003.
Alma Luna – Front Office Administrator
Alma has been with our practice since 2005. She reviews treatment plans with our patients, and answers
any questions they may have about their insurance coverage. She also helps patients understand their
treatment options as well as organize and schedule their surgical appointments. In her free time, she
loves spending time with her family and cooking.

Melissa Ma – Registered Dental Assistant
Melissa has been with our practice since 2005, and has worked in Periodontics most of her dental
career. She assists Dr. Kim during procedures, and coordinate patients for treatments. She makes
sure the patients are comfortable, and she is very attentive to patient's needs. Melissa speaks fluent
Chinese. In her leisure time, she likes hiking, cooking and watching foreign Soap Operas.
Grace Miu – Dental Assistant
Grace (Gratiela) joined our team in 2009. As Dr. Kim's chairside assistant, she loves meeting and
working with patients everyday. She takes pride in offering patients the highest standard of care and
comfort. She has been living in Santa Clara for 8 years now. In her free time, Grace loves spending time
with her family, playing the piano and being outdoors.
