Dr. Alexander Lipin, MD

I wish there was a ZERO stars rating! This is the complaint I filed with DMH after my experience with Dr Lipin at the Haverhill Pavillion I recently had to receive short term services at the Haverhill Pavillion after being at Charlton Hospital ER in Fall River Immediately I experienced human rights issues and filed a complaint ASAP with their officer which got nowhere Due to my mild, late diagnosed ASD I need my mother on the phone to help facilitate the intake process I requested this with the intake nurse and she said "yes, we are just waiting for the doctor" then the doctor (Dr Lipin) came in headstrong... I asked again and the doctor, Alexander Lipin boldly said no, and started blazing thru the intake process asking me questions and refusing to let me finishing answering. I kept mentioning my ASD and he is violating the ADA laws, clearly he and the nurse just did not care I became dysregulated and again mentioned this is why I need my mother on the phone, and then he asked about… my meds, which I have taken for 7 to 10 years. Because I was so dysregulated and apparently was "not following his directives" he yelled " WE ARE FINISHED!!! THATS IT NO MEDS!!!" I let the both of them know they have violated my human rights and they cannot abruptly stop my meds and they violated my ADA rights I immediately filed a human rights form (the DMH forms they have) The next day their officer came and said "you don't look like you have an ASD and we normally don't have parents present during intake" I gave this guy a piece of my mind and let him know I am on the milder end of the spectrum and was late diagnosed. I was so upset by his answer I told him I no longer wanted to speak to him Dr Lipin indeed stopped all my long time meds ASAP which put me in withdrawal and psychosis (anger and rage) My psychotic episode caused me to go off on staff and have Haldol- a med I am allergic to and this Dr knew it-to be given to me AGAINST MY WILL-“with benadryl to counter any affects” His tactics are to wash people off of meds so they have an episode to keep them there longer to bill insurances for more money I have an extensive med allergy list- I was overmedicated as a teen and was washed off of all meds at the Judge Rotenberg Center at 17 Whenever I was reintroduced to any med I was on- I experience either an adverse of allergic reaction requiring IM benadryl Dr Lipin and his team reconciled my list from Walgreens and as a PRN prescribed Zyprexa which is on my allergy list The nurses said "we don't know what he is thinking- it is here on your allergy list" He then put me on Cogentin to counteract any med I am allergic to he chose to give me I experienced 3 days of tongue spasms and then he added depakote to the mix-both I haven't taken in years and was reluctant to take Being afraid of "non compliance" I took it and the spasms continued begging for IM benadryl but they gave me oral benadryl ever 4-6 hours The next day I stopped both and the spasms stopped Dr Lipin asked when I wanted to be discharged and he actually stuck with my plan-I am used to being forced into compliance by fear "If you are good you can go home" (well put me back on my meds so I don't become psychotic!!!) I have to stuff my anxiety and fear so I could get the hell out of Haverhill! I was there 11/28 to 12/1 and immediately went back on my regular medications at home ASAP but my provider and I are weaning off of one that may have caused a "plateau" and periods of rapid cycling It took 3 days for me to level out so I can go back to my peer support job

Worst experience of my whole life was my appointments with this "human". Threatened me... Blackmailed me... put me on a med that caused significant weight gain. I am post Liver Transplant and have a Chronic Kidney Disorder. I tried to explain to him that I can not go on meds because of the weight gain. The weight gain has made me CKD progress to the point , that now I am looking to get a kidney transplant. He is just a horrid individual.

Wish you had 0, worst most unprofessional Dr ever, told me in to only speak when asked a question, I told I still felt suicidal and shouldn't be going home, he said good to your suicidal, but told me I'm to leave and called security on my, never counted my medication and now I'm possible going to have seizures I'm coming off benzos I was prescribed he stop them the day I left

Horrible cruel man. Should not be practicing medicine. Preys on the weak, uneducated. Especially women

A horrifying, abusive man. The staff know it. They’re afraid of him too. I had one slip me a complaint form. I asked one of them how he’s still there because people must report him all the time; he said 50% of the patients in the department at any given time have reported him. The reports do nothing. This man traumatized people daily. He should have his liscense revoked at the VERY least. I know this review won’t do anything either, but I wanted to put it out there. Hiring this man demonstrated you don’t care about your patients, and that you’re willing to actively, knowingly put them in harm.

I've never been so terrified in my life! He threatened me! He told me "if you don't do exactly what I tell you to do, I'm never letting you leave." He was extremely inappropriate when he found out I work for Victorias Secret. To say I was sexually harassed would be a understatement. I've had night terrors ever since I escaped from him!

The worst doctor I have ever encountered. He is demeaning, inconsiderate, and showed zero empathy or understanding. It is shocking that he is a doctor for mental health patients. I am beside myself at how horrible I was treated by him.

While under his care, multiple staff members went behind his back to apologize to me for the way he treated me - but were all too scared of him to advocate for me as a patient. He threatens those in his care into submission and scares you until you say you’re okay just so you can go home. The man is an absolute monster.

Was under Lipins care for a few days. During intake he asked for social information that he truly didn’t care to listen to. He repeated back to me my highest education and still got it up incorrect on my records amongst other things. My major complaint is that he asked for me to prove to him that I had the illness my regular doctor had recently diagnosed me with. He then proceeded to tell me I can choose my medication instead of discussing options and a care plan. This man does not care about whether or not his patients survive, only making a pay check. Worst doctor I have ever encountered and I will be filing a formal complaint in hopes he loses his license.

I have been inpatient more than a dozen times at other hospitals and this was by far the worst experience ive ever had in a hospital. He doesn't care what you have to say threatened to call security on me and when i wrote a complaint against him the social worker peter wouldn't confirm he said that luckily a nurse sided with me. Threats are emotionally traumatic to pysh patients. This guy has aboustley no heart and shouldn't be a doctor in any field. And to add to it you cant even understand him.
