Dr. Alexander Mendivil, MD

We recently visited the Scripps urgent care in Vista for treatment of my wife’s stiff neck. After receiving the doctor’s recomendation of Valium and steroids, we questioned if there was perhaps a muscle relaxer that was less sedative. I had asked about the option of using Skalexin, which according to popular opinion, was less sedative. Dr. Mendivil informed me that we would not be playing “Dr. Google” and refused to answer any of my further questions. I stood out of my chair and continued to ask for an explanation. I guess, this was viewed as a threat and I was informed that security was going to be called unless we left the urgent care. In my opinion, this is a clear violation of patient rights. My wife has an extreme sensitivity to pain relievers and I was within my rights to question the doctor’s prescription. I should have been met with an understanding of my concerns and treated with respect. Scripp’s medical should be ashamed of Dr. Mendivil’s defensive, dismissive, and… unprofessional performance.
