Dr. Alexander Scagnelli, MD

He has been my doctor for many years. absolutely an incredible doctor. very down to earth and kind.

Dr Scagnelli started out being very engaged, informative, supportive, concerned, & professional.it seems as the practice grew, he was less accessible & when he was available, or the office decided to have a doctor on call available, Dr Scagnelli turned impatient, & unconcerned like a bitter, indifferent condescending, too busy, type of guy. I can’t describe him as a medical professional at this point. Anna F. Who is the best, medical provider, in that practice, is the only one I’d recommend. She is fantastic, cares, warm, takes the time to get to know her patients. Unfortunately, she’s retiring. Recently, I had to ask the office to have my prescription(controlled med, only prescribed electronically) called into another, pharmacy, boy, what a massive snub & runaround the staff gave me, all day. Immediately, when I asked, they replied that Anna is not available, as if that’s the end of the conversation because they weren’t offering any other options. They are aware that this… prescription cannot be handwritten & delivered by patient to pharmacy. I had to remind them, that other doctors work on the team, that are capable of calling in a prescription, & if they could please find someone else to call it in for me. I was told, “it’s so busy, our phones are ringing all day, we’re having an issue with CVS, we’ll see what we can do, hopefully finding a doctor who can call in my prescription, that day. I will add they did come through same day, despite how overwhelmed & busy they were. It is an extremely non stop office, with many patients & numerous doctors. I do thank them for following through & appreciate it. I understand these ladies are swamped & busy all day long. It’s not always easy doing what they do. However, the office staff, has always been cold, drab, & impatient as well. Some are confrontational, over day to day, patient, scenarios, like they’re doing you a favor, so you better zip the lip. I’m not the first nor last to describe them as horribly unprofessional. Dr. Scagnelli, calked me to “clarify”, first, before calling the pharmacy. His definition of clarification was, to cut my medication dosage in half, never asking what I thought or felt, all over the phone, within 7 minutes. He seemed agitated with me about the dosage. I replied, “I didn’t prescribe these to myself, Doctor”. He was so aloof & hasty, he became agitated when I asked about medication titration, risks involved in changing a patient’s dosage so abruptly & drastically, without even seeing me in person. He replied, “You’ll be sleepy for a week. I’m only cutting it down by 30%. You’ll be fine.” Then said, “ I’ll call, these in, have a good day” Click & hung up. I wouldn’t recommend this team, unless you absolutely must see Dr. Scagnelli. Anna F. Should have her own practice. She is just as busy as all on that team. In all my years working with her, she remained professional, understanding the true meaning of building trust and building meaningful relationships with her patients all along supportive of them and their concerns.

I have gone to many doctors and NO ONE has helped me more than Dr Scagnelli. Cannot recommend him more highly than now. He has helped me so much. He is a fantastic listening doctor that has helped me so much in the prescriptions he has prescribed to me. I would never go anywhere else ever. thank you so very much Dr Scagnelli for all you do for me and so many others.

I.ve. been seeing him for years and this i have to say is the sanest i have ever been.he is compassiate and understanding.he has a realistic and gentle way about him.

Guy does not care about his patients at all. He is rude and talks down to you. I saw him for six month for ocd and depression. Put me on Prozac which had horrible side effect. When I tried to explain what was going on it was like he wasn't even listening. Appointments lasted about 30 seconds to a minute on average.

This practice clearly is not conscious of patient. Vital signs are not check, weight not checked, clearly a mill of prescription after prescription. I would be surprised if they are making money on prescribing "new" more expensive medication. I think this practice needs to be reported to State agencies for investigation of practices.

I saw Dr Scagnelli for approximately 10 years and was always treated with the utmost respect and found him to be the most caring compassionate Punch Dr that I ever went to. He truly cared about my wellbeing even when I went through a period where I couldnt afford to go. He cared more about me and my family then the money. He provided me with samples from the drop reps when I did not have the money to buy them. I owe Dr Scagnelli my life and it really bothers me to read such negative comments about him. I gave known many others who gets helped as well. I will say though. Other than Julie, the rest of the staff should be either retrained in how to treat people or just get rid of them. There are too many people looking for work and I'd like to think they would be much friendlier than the current staff. It's hard enough going to see a psychiatrist with the stigma that unfortunately still happens in this day and age. You would think they could be a bit more warm and welcoming… instead of acting like you just inconvenienced them. So Dr Scagnelli and Julie, you are the best in my book!

Dr. Scagnelli is a nice guy, but he's basically a prescription writer who has no qualms about throwing you one or two prescriptions for antidepressants and then scheduling you to come back one a month. Once a month! For brand new medication! I could probably walk in and ask for valium and he'd write me a prescription for a bottle of 60. I feel like he's there to write me a fix-all prescription for pills
