Dr. Alexander C Simotas, MD

I made an appointment with Dr. S, two weeks ago through the HSS website. Upon submitting the appointment I received confirmation and where/when to show up. I went in today and they said they had called me “endlessly” to confirm or cancel my appointment - I have ZERO calls from them, the less than friendly office manager said my phone was constantly busy, it was not and that I left no other contact info - apparently an email address and two phone numbers wasn’t enough for these people. The woman also told me my appointment was very vague when in fact I went into detail about two MRI’s I’ve had and my symptoms. Seems like they messed up and are trying to cover for themselves. Advice: get some staff training on how to address patients and don’t use online booking, staff clearly can’t handle it.

He is a life-savor! After going elsewhere and not getting any pain relief, Dr. Simotas has done wonders for my back. He really cares about his patients and explains everything well. As long as it’s possible, Dr. Simotas will be my orthopedist.

He was not interested in my back pain at all. His staff were rude and unhelpful. I overheard surgery nurses discussing him and calling him an idiot. The description in the website of his multi faceted treatments had no connection to how he actually was-uncaring, with no interest in his job.

Lied to me several times about having done reports required by NYS Disability and the NYS Workers Compensation Board. I thought the Court or Workers Comp were playing games, or had lost the reports. Finally, He admitted he had been lying to me! His excuse was "That's all I do all day is fill out paperwork"! I reported this with my attorney at the next Worker's Compensation Board hearing- and no one, including the judge, my lawyer or opposing counsel could Believe what he did and said. I would vnot trust the '5-Star' reviews, it may be a case of "Reputation Management" Services creating glowing reviews (who knows, it's common for Doctors, Lawyers and other professionals).

That was this clowns diagnosis of my girlfriends back pain. He told her it was all in her head, and she should read a book on mental strength. His staff forced her to pay a co-pay even though her plan has no co-pay. Stay far away from this guy.

Have been to Dr. Simotas multiple times for sports injuries, mostly back. All good outcomes, great attention, competent office staff and follow through.

I was in severe pain and getting progressively worse. I had damage to BOTH shoulders. Dr Simotas is an excellent diagnostician. He was not only able to diagnose my problem, but he was able to relieve the pain and structure a rehabilitative plan. I will be forever grateful to him. He is an excellent MD, stellar in all areas. I would never hestitate to recommend him.

I went to see Dr. Simotas with nothing but gloom & Doom. I must say he has helped me before but I did not expect this to be my lucky day. His magic touch gave me mobility and pain relief. His manor is reassuring and he certainly gave me all the time I needed to feel confident in his care. His assistant said she wanted to be my favorite nurse. Well I am happy to say she is.

I was in serious pain before I met with the doctor. He listened. He was very patient. We talked thru the options ahead comprehensively. He was able to administer lasting solutions immediately. I am almost entirely pain free due to him. I highly recommend him.
