Dr. Alexis Te, MD

Dr. Alexis Te helped me and improved my daily quality of life in a way I never knew was possible. I would always have to urinate at least every two hours because of a very large prostate. I would have to urinate before, during and after meetings, dinners, driving, the beach, anything. Dr. Te did a laser prostate reduction surgery on me. It was painless during and after. Today, I can go to court, to meetings, to the beach, the movies or especially driving for 5 hours without needing the bathroom. It is an unbelievable improvement. I am now 65 and wish I had known about this 20 years ago (if it existed). One day a month before I met Dr. Te, I couldn’t urinate and I got a catheter in the ER. I had the catheter for six weeks. My doctors at Penn, where I had gone for 40 years, didn’t offer me what Dr. Te did. One doctor at Penn told me he does aquablation but only once a month and that I would have to wait until December (it was then only September!!!). He told me to self-catheterize until… then!!! I can’t do self catheterization! If I couldn’t wait, he encouraged me to get the traditional TURP procedure – even though the experts in NY like Dr. Te said that there were much more complications and need for catheter during the recovery period for TURP than aquablation or laser. THANK GOODNESS I LEFT PENN AND WENT TO DR TE!!! My urologist at Penn told me that Dr. Te was “a wizard with the laser”. I am so grateful to Dr. Te and to his expert team of including Shelly, Ivy, Steve and Saba. I highly recommend Dr. Te and Mount Sinai. My quality of life has improved greatly and unexpectedly thanks to Dr. Te. Dr. Te is a giant and a hero among doctors.

My procedure with Dr Te went extremely well, with a huge reduction in size and increase in flow. Sleep is rarely disturbed by a need to urinate.

As a retired medical professional, I was expecting better from Dr. Te. His TURP operation was of no benefit to me, as was his PTNS and biofeedback therapy. He seems hungry to recommend more and more operative procedures, and when they fail, he resorts to telling me my frequency, urgency, etc. is in my mind, my imagination. I found him to be offensive and unprofessional, a huge disappointment and a disgrace. Beware.

Only had difficulty establishing whether Dr Te takes Empire BCBS POS insurance
