4 years ago I had an infection that attacked my spine. The Spine Specialist doctors in Charlotte, wouldn't attempt to help me. They didn't know how to deal with vertebral osteomyelitis or vertebral osteoporosis. Dr Geissele looked at my MRI results, and wasn't happy with the results, so another MRI, and he looked at the results and decided that he could help me. I had previous spinal fusion and the infection had destroyed several large portions of my vertebrae, I had reconstruction surgery in July of 23, and 12 hours post-op, I was up walking the corridor at Catawba Valley Medical Center. He didn't promise anything, he knew that I would always have pain, he tried to make it a little more bearable. The surgery was a success. I'm starting to have some new and different problems, but I know that my back is horrible. Dr.Geissele is a great doctor, a great spine surgeon, and I consider him as my friend. He doesn't try to sugar coat the facts. He is honest and he doesn't make promises… that he can't keep.. He is the best!

Really takes the time to explain any procedures or the process of what needs to be done to fix your problems. Very nice to communicate with!
