Talented Doctor, but TERRIBLE new billing practices, so I left after being a patient for more than 10 years. Plays the game lots of dermatologists play these days by charging customers an "ambulatory surgery fee" when he performs a MOHS procedure in his office. Be forewarned that most health plans charge around a $350 copay when things are billed like this, rather than billing it as an office visit. (Health plans either view this as outpatient surgery or an ER visit - both equally punishing to your wallet.) Shame on him. His business was doing just fine before he instituted this new billing practice a few years ago. I went at it with his billing department five times and they refused to do the right thing. In fact, they could care less. I wanted the fee waived, at least this first time, since they never told anyone upfront about this radical billing change. I felt this was a reasonable proposal, but Dr. Hendi refused to step in to get involved and do the right thing. He hid in his… office while I went toe-to-toe with his billing department. Really disappointed in his actions. PLEASE take a minute and research other practices. Not everyone is doing this.

Thanks for the best dermatological surgery treatment I’ve experienced. I unfortunately have needed several procedures resulting from excessive exposure to sunburn as a youth.

The surgery went well -- which is what is important. But I have some other misgivings: 1. The Post-Op instructions are very clear about not letting a scab to form. But, after a day, when a scab began to form, the instructions said nothing about what to do. And it took three phone calls over 5 hours before I received a response ("Apply vaseline more often"). 2. The office schedules too many follow-up appointments in the AM. It was only 45 minutes between my first and second visit to a patient room (for surgery, etc.). But it was nearly 3 hours between my second and third (and final) visit to the patient room, with the long wait apparently caused by the number of follow-up patients that were seen in the interim. And, at the scheduler's suggestion, my own follow-up was scheduled for the morning. When I arrived for that appointment, I found the same situation, with too many follow-ups scheduled (though my wait was only 45 minutes).

I have been treated two times by Dr. Hendi and he really sets the bar high for other medical practitioners. His office is well run and staffed by courteous folks at the front office. There are times when the waiting room is filled with a lot of people (many sporting various forms of bandages) but it never has a hectic, unorganized feeling. From the moment you are brought back into the patient rooms you are treated with respect and kindness. Dr. Hendi sets the tone with his warm compassion, efficient work, and ability to patiently walk you through the procedure. His medical assistants and nurses are also incredibly warm and kind which makes the procedure less stressful and difficult. My last visit was for about 8 hours and i was losing my ability to "hang in there" towards the end but Dr Hendi and his staff listen to and respond to your concerns and help folks to "breath deep" and get through this important procedure. Fantastic health care, service and support!!!! I highly recommend!
