Dr. Alice Police saved my life 23 years ago, and I am grateful every day for the saving operation she performed on me.

Iâ??ve been a patient of Dr. Police for a decade. She performed years ago bilateral mastectomies. Pros: She had come highly recommended, was pleasant and reassuring, had a beautiful practice, which helped in feeling well taken care of and was close by. Cons: While she has still the â??girlfriend let me hug youâ?? demeanor, which used to make me feel like she cared, Iâ??ve long since realized that she doesnâ??t care about me or any of her patients (I have had many conversations with many other patients of hers). She does care about her revenue stream though. Just like many other patients have said: her practice charges exorbitant fees for all procedures; she self-referred me (and all of us BC patients) to annual or more frequent breast MRIâ??s; she has her own MRI machine. Her scans cost much more than the typical contracted rate and, just as other patients have said, patients incur a very high copay $600+ or are responsible for the $4000 bill themselves because her office did… not obtain proper authorization although they tell you they did. The MRI scans and ultrasounds I used to get were read by her in-house radiologist who previously had missed a cancer in my right breast in subsequently produced only the most superficial reports: "all ok.â?? No comparison to prior scans, no description of findings. It seems that the only reason for the MRIâ??s is to make money. The radiologist charges, of course, in addition to the MRI fee. She is flippant like no other. Dismisses in a â??oh no girlfriendâ?? manner any concerns. Poopoohs questions, concerns, findings. Her annual exam is a quick hi-and good bye. At some point the insurances reigned in the MRIs for BC patients. I asked her, how one would detect any potential recurrence. Her answer: "if you find a lump in your chest come and see meâ??. Asked whether there is any better kind of follow up one can do, she says: "you have nothing to worry about, you are cured.â?? That is a ridiculous thing to say to a cancer patient, especially one with multiple cancers. I receive no other testing from her. If she canâ??t do an expensive procedure (MRI, ultrasound, biopsy, surgery) it seems she has zero interest. She is rough - tearing and shoving carelessly on the bandages and tissues of a fresh wound. She has the unfortunate habit during an office visit (after a long wait) to step out in the middle of a visit saying that sheâ??ll be right back; typically it takes her 30 minutes+ to actually make it back, because she sees other patients in the meantime. God knows why she does this: she sails into the room, with exuberant â??hiâ??; then needs to leave to go and do the same thing with a few other patients, perhaps trying to give each the illusion that they are being seen. Seeing patients in this in-out manner is her routine; which means sheâ??s never focused during this unnecessary and uncomfortable back&forth. It also turns any visit to her office into a multi hour event - a total waste of time. She gives the worst recommendations for other doctors: pals who take no insurance; surgeons she sleeps with but have a horrible reputation among patients; and the doctor she discredited once to me in very harsh terms as incompetent is now her resident oncologist. It is very difficult to trust any of her decisions.

I love this doctor and find to her be extremely concerned for the well being and outcomes of her patients. She saved my life, literally, with her good judgement and practices. She is funny, caring and easy to talk to, and will give as much time as you need to understand and feel comfortable with your treatment decisions.

Dr. Police found the breast cancer when 2 other doctors missed It. One doc said I had a "rare rib tumor". Dr. Police just touched the area and told me it was breast cancer. This doctor only treats breast cancer, so she knows what she is doing. Dr. Police then had me get a core biopsy ( right there at the hospital), and I was scheduled for lumpectomy within a few days. She gave me all the choices--I chose lumpectomy, chemo, and radiation. It is now 12 years later and I believe that Dr. Police saved my life. I went yesterday for my yearly MRI and my new Doc here in Arizona said that he saw something "suspicious". What does that mean!!! Anyway, my Arizona doc recommended another MRI with a biopsy. This is a long, loud, painful procedure. So, I called Dr. Police and she said to have the MRI disc sent to her because she would recommend an Ultrasound first. This makes perfect sense to me, as the ultrasound is non-invasive, and does not involve cutting, inserting a large bore needle etc.… Also, my doctor here actually told me that the breast biopsy is not painful--is she kidding!! Then I wonder why all women complain about getting a mammogram. Yes, it does hurt. Anyway, always research your breast doctor, but when something sounds wrong to you, or if you just feel uncomfortable with a fast rush to do invasive procedures--do your homework. Dr. Police is the best. I guess no physician can please everyone. I do wish all women could have had my excellent experience.

I think I owe to write this review to those who might be in the situation that I had back in 2009 to make the right choice. I have been referred to her Via my OBGYN. She totally understood my anxiety about this whole situation. They did Mammogram and MRI right on that same day following by biopsy the day after. She made sure to have the result in 24 hours and to make the long story short in less than a week my surgery was done . She got a clear margin for me and now I am cancer free . She is very knowledgeable, very helpful and courteous staff and I love her bedside manner.

Following the diagnosis which was heart-stopping, Dr. Police provided care which exceeded anything we could have hoped for. Her experience, thorough explanations including alternate approaches to treatment, accessibility and consistent follow up were nothing short of amazing. The office staff is patient-friendly as well. If there was anything to repeat in this challenging experience it would be Dr. Police, her partner, Dr. Frye and Pacific Breast Care.

I was a reluctant patient. If not for Dr Police and her state of the art equipment and expertise in diagnosis I do not think I would be alive now

I had to go to Dr. Police for a lump on my breast that got infected. she is not very gentle, but does appologize alot. By the time surgery came around, she was late getting to me. I waiting in the freezing cold prep room for 1 1/2hr., very uncomfortable and extremely nervous to where I was shaking. Finally went through the surgery, woke up, went home. I took bandages off the next morning, and I looked beat up! Went in for my follow up appt., and not sure if its her fault or her office people, they stuck me in the room for over an hour! I went out twice to ask how much longer and they said 5 minutes! Really? I finally got dressed and left the office after 1 1/2 hr really upset! I still haven't gone back to see her. And I haven't received anything about the cyst being non cancer. Interesting, glad she cares. Its been since the middle of January. Now the bills are being sent, but not follow up on patient care. I wouldn't go there again. My time is important as much as her… is. there are other good doctors I can go to.

Dr Police took my terror away with straightforward answers and explained each step of what was going to happen and what I should do. I have 100% faith in her and her ability.
