Dr. Alicia Hart

I am extremely disappointed with Dr. Hart’s involvement in my induction plan. I had never met or been evaluated by her, yet she intervened and convinced my high-risk physician to delay my induction from 37 to 38 weeks without ever speaking to me. I am high risk with chronic hypertension and obesity, have been very sick in the third trimester, have struggled to keep fluids down, and recently required an increase in my blood pressure medication. Saying I am “fine” because my BP is currently controlled ignores the fact that it required increased treatment. What upset me most was the complete lack of communication and shared decision-making. Dr. Hart made a decision affecting my health, pregnancy, family, finances, work, and support needs without knowing me or discussing any of it with me. If there were concerns about my 37-week induction, I deserved to be included in that conversation before the plan was changed.
