I had to switch doctors due to severe weight bias. Most complaints were blamed on my weight without further investigation. This is a red flag indicating a lower quality of care from what thin patients get, dangerous as serious issues weren't investigated. Instead of getting the help I needed, I was repeatedly sent away with a diagnosis of "fat" and an info sheet for a diet I'd already tried and failed at. I've gotten second opinions and comprehensive care from a new doctor who takes me seriously and sees excess weight as a symptom of a greater issue, not a result of laziness or ignorance.

Having had an MD who never said my name, Dr Rindel was a nice change. She used my name, attentively listened to me, check me, and together, we came up with a plan. She appears to be up-to-date with her medical knowledge and was familiar with specialists in the hospital. Have a follow-up appointment scheduled.
