Dr. Alison Leigh Mezzenga, PhD

I took my son, who is a minor, to PCS, where he saw Alison Mezzenga for 3 sessions. I had to request that the 3rd be held in person AND to meet the therapist to discuss how things were progressing. Something she should have proactively done. During our interaction, I was disappointed by her apparent lack of engagement. She did not ask meaningful or probing questions to better understand my son or his circumstances, and I had to initiate most of the conversation myself. She offered no constructive feedback and came across as disinterested, almost as if we were an inconvenience. Upon leaving, she said, “Well, if you decide to book another appt, I guess I’ll see him then,” which felt dismissive & unprofessional. Overall, our impression of her demeanor was she is more concerned with getting through the appointment and getting paid than providing meaningful care. This experience left me with serious doubts about her commitment to her patients' well-being, particularly when working with… vulnerable individuals like minors.
